I just read that TOT is going to be refurbished this spring. The ride will not close but will have limited elevators and fast passes. We are only going to to be at HS in later afternoon/evening after spending the morning at AK. Due to our limited time at the park do you think I should try to get Fast passes for the ride or just get in line at the end of the night? I am planning to rope drop at AK.

Your OTHER preferences that day dictate whether you should pre-book FPs for ToT.
If you want FPs at AK, then you'd have to wait until later that day to try to book for ToT at DHS and they may or (more likely) may not still be available.

If that's the case, you'd be riding ToT without a FP, regardless of when you arrived at ToT.
If the lines are extra-long at ToT due to the planned reduced number of elevators,
the line may likely still be extra-long, even near park closing time.

I guess I will wait and see what FPs I can get when my 60 day window opens. For me and my husband Toy Story Land is not a priority so will not be looking to get FPs for SDD or other rides in that land. We are also fine to do SL at RRC. My preference is FOP at AK and planned on doing rope drop. The day we are going is an EMM so hoping to get most of the park done by mid-afternoon and then hopping over to HS. Thanks for your thoughts.

If you get FPs for AK, its not likely there will ba any available later in the day for ToT (at least not as many as usual). However, if you are lucky, some could pop up.
With the ride operating at half capacity, I would expect the standby line to be much longer, even near close.
Depending on what rides you want to do at AK, and whether you use your FPs at AK, will have a huge impact on what you can do at HS.

Your plan to RD AK, if you want to do FoP and are there early enough, you should be able to ride that and several other rides before the standby lines grow too long.
There are 2 thoughts on FPs for 2 parks. Some recommend using the FPs toward the end of the morning to see as much as possible in a short amount of time, then take you chanced for what FPs are available at the second park.
Others suggest RD the first park, see and much as you can, and have your FPs start as soon as you enter the 2nd park. Neither option is right or wrong. It depends on which park/attractions are more important to you and are most important to ride.
