Tower of Terror Question

Hi. I know that ToT has the huge drops, variances of drops, pulls faster than gravity, etc., but is there anything on the ride that would make one dizzy? I can't do circles, and wonder if I can try this out. (I was green for a full-day after riding Space Mountain. Never again!) Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance!

not unless you get dizzy from drops! No circular motion at all. You should be fine.

No, there isn't any spinning on this ride, so I wouldn't think it would make you dizzy.

Here's a tip: go to YouTube and type in "Tower of Terror" (or any other ride in WDW, for that matter!) and you can see videos from the ride, and get a sense of what it's like.

I was green for a full-day after riding Space Mountain. Never again!

Space Mountain or Mission Space? I'm not remembering any "tea cup" kind of action on Space Mountain...just curious?

Yes, I actually got green from Space Mountain. I think it was not being able to see the curves ahead of me and I felt like an nuclear atom bouncing all around with circles thrown in there. I can go up and down, just not round and round, or have the sensation of going around, and being in the dark while this occurs, well, it just does me in! I'd like to try ToT, but don't want to be sick for the rest of the day.

I don't like Space Mountain or RnRC.... but LOVE TOT.

If you're fine with up and down then TOT shouldn't be a problem at all!:thumbsup2

I was always terrified of drops and still am and was forced to go on ToT. After I went on it I realized that it was not a big deal at all. I didn't even get that sick feeling when I dropped. It just feels like butterflies in your tummy and makes you want to laugh. I get sick on rollercoasters but have never felt sick after ToT. I really like that it has a floor and your feet are at rest and not dangling.

ToT actually did make my DH and goddaughter queasy.

There is a part of the ride where your vehicle moves forward and the visual effects are quite disorienting. That was enough to make them both a little green.

Your mileage may vary.

Nothing at all. :) My mom has vertigo, and she can do ToT. She just chooses not to because she also has a fear of heights :P

I didn't find ToT bad either.

Space Mountain - slight green tint. RnRC - full on Martian-green for a while after. Teacups - very-near-to-hurling, don't-want-to-move after getting off, Bright-Glowing-Neon-Verde. Bad, bad, bad. :sad2: I just can't take the rides like I used to.

As long as you don't have a problem with heights. I was terriified and bawling uncontrollably when my family guilted me on after four years of saying "NO". Thank goodness there was no proof. I am oddly absent from the ride picture. The rest of the family was visible - me, not there. The seat looked empty. Doo-doo-doo-doo.

I get motion sick pretty easy. No Star Tours for me (Mission Space, would never even try it), Space Mountain I can ride once, but if it were any longer, no way. Tower of Terror doesn't bother me in the slightest (well except that it terrifies me).

Cool - I'm going to give it a shot! Thanks for your help and experience :worship:
