When we go in october, i am definitley allowing my nearly 6 year old child to ride on this with me. She coped well with crush coaster (at least i THOUGHT SHE DID) so imagine she will do as well with tower of terror, not that she is getting a choice really.

What I want to know is, what are the restraints, are you offered individual seatbelts, bars or anything or is it one huge bar to keep everyone safe?

Also is it the actual movement part of the ride that is scary or the effects that are scary as well.

Its individual seat belts.

Its the sensation of moving so fast that is so scary - although it was hard to know whether you were going up or down.

It was brill though - Im not a lover of thrill rides. I do BTM which I love now and would ride over and over if I could but thats all but I made myself go on TOT. Im going to do it again in summer as long as I can persuade DD to go on again

Everyone has there own lap belt. It is very secure but you do feel yourself rising off the chair as you are going up and down.

I find the effects more scary than the ride itself, as does DD. Not giving too much away but there is one part at the beginning of the actual sit down ride where you can feel the cage start to shake -this is where I start to scream and usual finish screaming as the ride finishes!:rotfl2:

That doesn't stop this being my fave ride at DLP after BTM!

The ride itself is not that bad, but as usual Disney is making a huge (scary) show prior to the ride.
My BF was so scared that he said more than 10 times in the waiting area: "I will never ever go again on this ride if I should survive this."

And I thought the same.
As usual everything is very loud and intense. But in the end the actual ride is not that scary. (Crush is much harder)
After first riding TOT we felt in love with this attraction and have done it after this first time every day at least twice. :thumbsup2

By the way: One day there was a 4 year old boy with his dad. And although he was scared he had also fun and was fine after the ride.

My daughter was just 6 when she first went on the TOT in Florida. She was a little apprehensive at first in the queue but when we went on it she loved it and we went on it loads after that! It is now her favourite ride and she talks about it loads, she is sooo excited at the thought of riding the one at dlp as last year we was there they were still building it.

imagine sitting on your pc chair right? Then someone under the floorboards yanking it straight down the way without telling you....then pushing it back up and yanking it down again.....

I can still feel the fear of not knowing when it was going to happpen!!:rotfl2:

:lmao: :lmao: I'm either grabbing Dh's hand or DD.

I always feel sorry for the people who are on the ride with me - I scream so loud and usually start before the big drops!!

Im sure there are small handle bars next to the side of each seat....then again i could of imagined this as i was shaking with fear, i could of been hullicinating lol.

Hahahaha, I'm laughing now, but in 2 weeks and 3 days it will be a different story, I'm sure!!!

Hi,

Not visited the board since our trip last December but I have somehow been persuaded to spend my bonus money on taking my DD for her 7th birthday. The deal is no party or presents but a trip to DLP - Hmmmh - think I might have been manipulated a bit there.

oh my, just checking this thread out to see if ToT suitable for my 7 year old in September and had the best laugh all day at your descriptions of what to expect.:rotfl2: Have to say though now not sure whether or not to go for it. I think you've all scared me off.

Sure I will have a few more questions before our trip so will be popping in from time to time as you are all so friendly and informative.

I remember screaming "oh my days!" in a lift full of French people lol, i was the poor English girl in there lol.

yeah there is something next to you....the other person!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: TOT will defo do that to you!!!!:lmao: I think at one point I was shouting for my mammy!!!..she was stalking Mickey at the time cause she was too scared to come on!!.....A girl still needs her mum at 32 years old!!!;)

Have any of you been on Stealth at Thorpe Park?

I was beside myself waiting for th green light on that!
I also froze as i was stepping over getting into the chair I was so nervous!!

I have also been known to cry "LET ME OFF" as we're going up the Oblivion slope at AT! but I do LOVE both of those rides!!

This is one ride I will not be doing again!!!

There are 2 little handles either side of your seat but you have to share with the person sat next to you!! My mate was on one side and this german man was on the other side of me and he looked more petrified than I did to start with. He did say ' we will have to share, I will have the back of the handle and you can have the front, if we meet in the middle who cares'!! I laughed so much and he did too but 30 secs later we were not laughing!! Just screaming our heads off wanting it to end!!

Not sure as I've got older I've become more of a wuss!!!:rotfl2:

I remember the time when i never suffered from motion sickness, then i went Thorpe park 4 years ago and threw up after coming off nemesis inferno. I will be visiting the doctor for motion sickness tablets before my September trip.
