Tower of Terror not so "Terrorfying"

The first time I was supposed to ride it I was in 3rd grade (I believe) and terrified of thunderstorms, so whenever the pre-show came on in the library with the lighting and all, I freaked out, started to cry, and my brother and I took the chicken elevator.
My parents rode it, and we had heard from a CM earlier that day that if you put a coin on your leg, when you drop, it will go up in the air, then suspend for a second. I had wanted to do that, but since I was too scared to go on it, DM said she would do it. So they went on, then they never came back.
Here was DB and myself sitting on one of the benches looking terrified because the other elevator shaft had people coming out of it constantly while the other one had no activity. These two CMs came up to us and one of them said to the other, "These are the kids." I started crying again, and about 5 minutes later my parents came back. We think what caused the ride to misfunction was the coin because it fell off DM's leg onto the floor and into one of the grids on the floor.
The next trip for some reason I decided to ride it, and I loved it! I had heard that (in the old cars with the lap bars and one seat belt in the middle of the back) the seat belted seat was the best, so I requested that and loved it because I had the seat belt really loose= air time!! :hyper:
I just came back from a trip this past weekend, and I had this really long drop. What I really like about the new ToT is the special effects. I don't know if those were there before, and maybe I had just finally opened my eyes, but they were awesome. That's why I love ToT, the special effects and the story.

i really really want the weenie sequence. even though i've been to disney world a bunch of times i've never ridden this or rnrc i'm riding them both this year but i think it would be really lucky if i got the weenie sequence first and then the more thrilling ones afterward. it takes me a little while to get up my confidence.

DHSsenior007, that seat in the middle back with the lap belt used to be referred to as the "suicide" seat.

rode it and thought it was worth it. My DD 4 was like oh no oh no. It was so cute. She and my son got off saying never again. By the end of the day they were asking can we go again?

Really? I loved it because it did have the seat belt plus leg room!! I would always have my legs stretched out with my hands up. Yeah.... I miss that seat....

We are huge TOT fans, funnily enough we only rode it for the first time a year ago, we were always too afraid. They have changed it to have 4 difference drop sequences now, 3 with long drops and 1 with several short ones. The fun part is not knowing which sequence you'll get.

2 weeks ago myself, DH, DBIL and DN were one of the last for the night. We got a car by ourselves and sat right up front. Let me tell you, no matter how many times you've ridden it, THAT is scary!! I usually end up in the back for some reason and was totally ok with it, but being alone, last riders of the night, up front was totally different. I was almost in tears until we started dropping, then loved it all over again. I would definately try to be the last ones on again when we go back!

Why is up front scarier? Because they open the doors? I am SO dreading going on this ride lolol.
