I've just noticed that the TOT movie is on Channel 5 at 5.25 this evening!!!

I've seen it before, but I've always wondered if it was actually fimed - the outdoor scenes - at MGM...???

And which came first, the film, or idea for the film or the actual ride ????

We saw this whilst in Florida in 2000. I'm not sure where it was filmed - can't remember now but at the time we watched it and thought coool, this is where they got the idea for the ride - BUT the credits at the end say that the film was inspired by the ride in MGM studios - Orlando --- which makes it even cooler!!!! The film is really excellent, kids loved it and it made the ride even better next time....

The Ride came first, ToT is the only theme ride to have had a film based on it, rather than the ride being based on a film.

This was true previously, but Disney have recently released the Country Bear movie in the US (out here near Christmas time) : http://us.imdb.com/Title?0276033 - unfortunately it hasn't had great reviews

Ooop!! Just answered the other thread - yes, some of it was shots of the MGM ride (so I'm told).

Apart from POC, they are also making a film of the Haunted Mansion.

I just hope they don't make a movie of Its a Small World.

Now that would be a scary movie.

Could you imagine if the 'It's a Small World' movie was like Groundhog Day - now that would be too scary - LOL

Well, my two DS's watched, aged 3 and 4. The both recognised it from MGM which was good.
DS at 4 was glued to the TV set for a while, but then said Mummy, this has scary bits........wonder if it will put him off going on the ride.....
