Tower of Terror in English?

Hello everyone!

Random question- I have seen a POV video in which the on-ride spiel is in French but the pre-show video is in English. Is this set in stone, or do the cast members sometimes switch it to on-ride English narration?

I don't particularly mind either way as I've been on the WDW Tower and know the storyline inside out; however I'm going with someone who's never been to Disney before and would love to know whether to explain the story to them before going on it!

When we went in the summer of 2015 the pre-show was in English and the onboard stuff was in French. I had ridden the WDW and California Adventure's version multiple times so it wasn't a problem for me. I think if the person you are traveling with pays attention to the pre-show they won't have any problem with the actual ride as the pre-show in the library sets up the concept rather well. If you think they will have problems have them watch a youtube video of the California Adventure version as it is built in that style instead of WDW's.

I'm not sure what triggers the english version of the ride, though there is definitively an english pre-show as well as an english version of the ride itself.

As far as I am concerned, I really do prefer the english version. It is a shame than guests keep talking all the time (as they unfortunately do in most rides), especially when the show is in english.

we were there last week and it was all in french. we only rode once though.

Every time I have rode it's always all been in English before the ride and during the ride.

My guess is that the CM can choose the language. Last time I've entered preshow and the elevator with an english school trip and both were in english.

That might be a possibility however I don't believe CMs have so much time to pick a language during their shift…

Pre show in English with French subtitles. Main show mainly in French, but occasionally in English. To be honest, as long as you follow the pre-show, the main show kind of speaks for itself regardless of language!
