Tower of Terror going away?

This is happening right after Labor Day. Will be finished before Memorial Day 2017. It's not a rumor anymore. But it IS a bad idea.

Pay no attention to the troll who got banned from a different forum.

It will not be happening after Labor Day and it will not be happening at all. It was promoted for Halloweentime this year and this is a baseless rumor that has no bearing and should be ignored. Tower of Terror will still be here the way its always been next year and for years to come.

Hmmm, I had to Google it yet again to see if I missed an official announcement, but the search results still only showed the speculative Micechat article from May. And that isn't verified enough for me to worry about it, even though TOT is my very favorite attraction!

Anyone have a more recent 'confirmation'?

I'm in the "hope it stays the same" camp for sure.

If this is really happening, I want to know. It's my favorite attraction. And my 8 year old daughter's favorite too. We'd be devastated to see ToT go away.

If the rumor is true, it's not "going away", just rethemed. I am a big ToT fan and as long as it goes up and drops multiple times, I don't care much about the theme.

Well, it will certainly "go away" for an extended period of time during the retheming. And for those who don't go very often, it's a big loss for their trip.

And I'm not sure if I would still care for it as a GotG attraction. For me, the entire Twilight Zone theme is so perfect, I just can't imagine it without that. I'm not big on drop rides, but I love this one because the theming and ride are so perfectly matched.

Well, it would be neat, I'm not denying it. I would hope they would wait until after the holiday season (when we'll be there, haha.) We do really like it, especially since there might not be fireworks, or a train, or Fantasmic, or, or, or...

It's not a must-do attraction at the moment, my son will be easily satisfied with Splash and BTMRR and GRR. It just seems like a lot of stuff is down for refurbishment all at once.

Didn't they recently announce putting a tot themed bar in/near the attraction? Or was I dreaming..?
