Tower of Terror at DCA getting overhaul

The DIS said that this was coming tot ToT at DHS at WDW so if this indeed the case I would suspect that Disney would re-theme both rides so they were the same.

This really, really sucks I have to say as ToT is one of the best themed rides that they have and will hate to see it go.

Come on Disney leave well enough alone......add new experiences instead of taking away great ones!

WDW can not have any marvel themed ride. Marvel sold those rights a long time ago in Florida to universal studios which has a marvel land. That's why they are doing a toy story land at Hollywood studios instead of marvel

I think they can, they just can't use the ones already used by universal ( spiderman, hulk, Dr Doom)

Yes this is correct. So a Guardians of the Galaxy themed ride is completely legal to be implemented in WDW, since there was no presence of it in Universal at the time of the deal.

I go to WDW regularly so don't know much about DL, though have been there a few times. I have always felt that Tower of Terror is the absolute best themed Disney ride of all time. I can't even fathom that they'd do away with it.

I think that you are wrong on this one and that Guardians of the Galaxy is something Disney can and will put into their parks.......only time will tell and we will have to wait and see if these rumour are true or not.

The prevailing rumor for Universal is starting with the Hulk rebuild and moving into the rest of land it'll convert to the modern Marvel, via a deal that basically gives Universal the clear to use the new movie versions as a trade for not causing trouble with Guardians of the Galaxy at WDW (since it was already a gray area). I.e. a new Avengers ride that will show up in IOA, probably work starting soon after the Hulk is back open (and closing down Dr. doom in the process)

The original rumor from last month said they could use Guardians at WDW. However, it also said that WDW was only okay with a temporary overlay and would not be okay with a permanent fixture, but that the plan was for a permanent fixture. I really, really hope that WDW refusal to have a permanent overlay will keep this idea from coming true. I don't really think it's that big of a deal, but I just don't see the need for it. They should invest the money in new rides not just repaint old ones. I'd be sad to see Monster's Inc. go, but I would be okay with it if they were making that whole corner a Marvel Miniland and replaced the ride with some kind of Marvel dark ride (hinted at in the MiceAge article). I don't see how a Marvel TOT works with the idea of a Marvel Miniland in the corner. It's not the same space...

I think the commentary on MC being wrong is based on the number of times things are posted as "surely happening" don't happen, or seriously deviate... Like Tomorrow Land becoming Star Wars Land by Summer of 2015. Toon Town being scrapped for Star Wars Land... I mean, yes, Star Wars Land is happening, so they got that right.

Say I was a well-known celebrity blogger. I post that Celebrity A is pregnant with Celebrity B's child, and the baby girl will be born in 5 month. 4 years later, Celebrity A has a son with Celebrity C. My credibility would be toast, right? Well, I was right that Celebrity A was going to have a child, though! That's how I tend to look at MC and MA; a kernel of info may prove truthful, but the rest of the story isn't going to be recognizable.

I'm not sure what you mean by "disrespectful", micechat has been wrong on several occasions in the past... It is an emotional thing for a lot of people (including myself, lol) and people are entitled to their opinion on why this would be a good or bad decision. MiceChat being accurate doesn't make anybody's opinion on the re-skin any less valid. I still think this is a bad idea, but I have been coming around to it. The concept art honestly looks really cool, and I think that they will do a good job.
