Anyone else not receive the runDisney email about inclement weather? My hubby and dad both got it, but not me. Weird?
I got it. Their email lists aren't the best.

With a dragon theme I wonder if the dragon from Festival of Fantasy will be on course.![]()
That's probably more likely than what came to my mind later yesterday, when I remembered the flying dragon tests they had a couple years ago! But can you imagine? If there is a flying dragon on this course I'm going to regret not doing it sooooo much this year.![]()
Flying out in the morning, I am trying to find out if I can bring my STICK massager on the flight. I plan to just have carry on, Never flown before and am not up to speed on the specific rules concerning things like this. Thanks all and see you all saturday
This may have been asked before, but...
are there port-a-potties along the race course somewhere?
I'm finding I can only go about 4-5 miles before I need to take care of business - no matter how I hydrate.
Just need to be sure I have the bladder under control.
I don't know about anyone else, but I think rD's inclement weather email is about as clear as mud! (pun intended) So, here's the deal from a Floridian's perspective...
We've had a shocking amount of rain the past few weeks. Just a ton of it day after day after day. The storm sewers are full. The ground is saturated. There isn't anywhere for more rain to go. What that means for the 5K runners is most likely very wet, possibly muddy, fields. For 10 milers, it means medians and other grassy areas along the highway full of standing water, and possibly some standing water in the shoulders, too. The gravel road into WWOS is questionable: if it has enough gravel, or if WDW dumps some more on it, it might be fine. If there isn't enough gravel, it, too, may be wet and mucky.
Even if it does't rain at all Sat., the conditions on the fields and in grassy areas isn't going to improve much; the ground is just too wet to dry that quickly. Just be prepared for wet shoes and be careful!
Btw, another tip for those who are going to the Disney Villains Bash immediately after the race: be sure to bring a change of clothes with you, some baby wipes and deodorant. The first year I did the ToT I didn't bring a change of clothes and with the Florida heat you sweat a lot. After the race my wife and I were waiting to go on rides and to my horror I discovered that the awful smell that was surrounding me constantly was ME!
Last year I brought a change of clothes and boy was I thankful that I did. You may have go use the changing tent - which if it's like in years past - will be right next to the Gertie the Dinosaur. As a warning - the tents are not air conditioned at all and feel like a sauna inside them - but well worth the time to get changed out of your sweaty running clothes and then get ready to enjoy the evening of fun.
Is it time for my annual imploring to STAY OUT OF THE GRASS!!!?Just to add to this...
I drive down Osceola Pkwy several times a week.
It's very wet in the grassy areas. There's ponds in some places. So if you're one that relies on the grass to get around ppl, you may be in for a shock.
100% agree with this!Recommendation: If you can make it another 5-10 minutes after getting your bag, go and find just about any restroom in Hollywood Studios. Air conditioned and can change in privacy.

Anyone doing breakfast at Kona Saturday? We're coming in earlier than expected tomorrow so planning on doing the expo tomorrow afternoon instead on Saturday morning. Opinions? I thought I saw that this was the breakfast spot of choice for some runners. We have been before, just not before a race!
