Hi everyone!

I'm new to running and decided TOT is going to be my first race (well, maybe a few smaller local ones before hand lol). I started running last September, but took a few weeks off after the holidays. I'm ready to start back up again.
I'll be running the 10 mile alone, but my DD will be 14 and I'm pretty sure she wants to do the 5k with me.
I have a question for everyone. Other than running, what does everyone else do to get in shape for the race? My oldest DD goes to the gym, and suggested I go with her, but I'm not sure what to do there. I would love to hear some suggestions.
