Tower and Terror and hurricane winds and rain??

I was just wondering if the Tower of Terror with the open shafts that look outiside are boarded up so the rain and all does not get into the actual ride?? I know I read about the monorails at Contemp but nothing on ToT....thanks!!!

The shafts at TOT have doors on them. No need to board them up, just leave them closed.
