Just back from our first DVC trip to BWV. Expected a blank bill but was charged $30.00 for the one towel and trash visit. Can we wave this service next time and do it ourselves?

Thanks

Unless you arranged for extra service, there should have been no charge for the T/T on day 4.

If you did not request the extra service, you may want to challenge the charge on your bill. (I'd really urge people to question these things while still on site instead of later-as it's an easy thing to correct on the spot.)

I think an error was made in your case and can probably still be corrected. Call the resort directly and have your bill handy for the reference numbers.

There should be no charge for the service automatically provided (Trash/Towel on day 4 for stays of 4 to 7 nights and/or Full Cleaning on day 4 and T/T on day 8 for stays of 8-11 nights.)

Good Luck!

Huh?

More info please.

Are you an owner?

Were you renting points?

Did you request extra service?

Something's not right here...

Doc, I agree 100%! I say the same thing about members & guests who have maintenance/engineering/housekeeping issues while at a DVC resort. One needs to speak up! DVC CMs want to know when members & guests are not happy for whatever reason.

Yes, we are DVC owners and did not request any special service.

It was definately towel and trash and I will call BWV about it.

I am not shy and always ask about these things. I guess I was just so happy to see a small bill, but will definately call them and post the results here.

Thanks!

Looked closer at bill. The $30. was for a room change which we never did.

I called them and they are checking into it.

Glad you're getting it resolved. FYI -- Trash & Towel would only be a $10 per day charge if you requested extra service. You get one T&T free every four days and one free full cleaning on stays of more than 8 nights (in the same unit).

Did you talk to them about chaning rooms even if you never did?

I was thinking the same thing Dean. It sounds like they got charged for changing rooms.

Hi - August will be our first trip home - do they charge you $30 for changing a room AFTER you've been in it, or if they say "you'll be in room 123" and you say "do you have anything else" are you charged then? I guess I'm confused :)

Thanks,
Annette

No, only if you go to the room then want to change. It's essentially a cleaning charge. Some have been successful avoiding the charge if they just look at the room but you may want to ask.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the responses.

Yes, while checking in I inquired about a change mis-week from BWV to BCV. She made the change but the family did not like the four hour gap on change day so I asked her to reverse the request. She said, very nicely, that she would take care of it later.
We all know what that means. It never got done and we got the phone call the day before reminding us of the change.

It never dawned on me that there was a charge and I never associated the amount to the confusion. Lesson learned, which I know better but....., I shoulld have nicely asked that it be reversed at that moment.

This may sound rediculous, but it just gives me another opportunity to day dream about DVC at work while I call WDW to get this resolved!

I don't think you should have been charged to move from BWV to BCV. The cleaning fee is if you move within the same resort because you do not like the room.

Sometime disney billing can be funny. Got back in April from Fort Wilderness Villas and had a calling charge of 20 dollars on my account. When my wife and I never use the phone in the room (we use our cell phones)

The even questioned if it was us since the phone number was in the area code we live in.

However after having the CM look into it further it showed that someone stayed in the room before us that was from the same area code and was their charge.

Usually Disney is very complete and if some type of charge really isn't yours they will resolve this issue for you.
