Towels at Water Parks

I'm sure this is probably on a post somewhere but the search keeps kicking me out...so anyway, what do people do for towels at the water parks? Last time we went we brought beach towels from home but I don't want to drag anything extra this time(we fly in then rent a car) so looking for ideas.

As I see it we have 4 options:
1) towel rental at the water parks. Anyone know how much $$ for this?
2) Buy beach towels when we get to FL and then just leave them behind
3) Bring bath towels from resort (not really a good idea but an option)
4) Bring beach towels from home

What does everyone else do? :confused3

Towel rentals at the water parks are $1.00 each.

I have been told that the rental towels are really thin.

We are flying and there is no way I am taking towels on the plane so we are goign to take the towels from our room. It isnot what I really want to do but I have no other ideas.

We are still trying to come up with a way to mark our towels and thus our spot. We have been told that everyone's towels and things look alike and it is easy to lose your things.

I am thinking of pinning green mickey heads on our towels with diaper pins? :confused3

I'm bringing a beach towel from home, I don't think the resorts would like you taking their towels and I'm afraid the towels at the water parks aren't really that great.

I don't mind packing a beach towel within my luggage though.

Twende - why not take some old towels you're ready to get rid of anyway; use space bags, squeeze/vacuum out all the air, then toss the towels before you pack to come home? Or if you just pack them as is, you'll have room for souvenirs.

Kay,

I may try that but I suspect I will be really packed on the way down. I am leaving a week early to attend an out of state college graduation and I am trying to figure out how in the world I am going to get everything into two bags and keep the weight under 50 lbs. I should be okay on the way back because many of the things are gifts that will stay as graduation gifts.

It just seems like I have a huge pile of things to take with me, especially when I look at the pile on my bed.

DH was asking if our resort might have swimming towels that we could use and then return to the resort. I guess that might work.

Besides we have a Golden Retriever who lays claim to every "old" bath towel we own. She has the funny habit of getting wet all the time! :rotfl2: She makes a bigger mess than any of the kids ever did!

Thanks for the idea of the space bags. I saw them the other day at the store and wondered if they really worked. What if security opens them? How would you ever get things back into the case? Does that ever happen?

I think I could squeeze some beach towels in the luggage, but my problem in the wet factor. We are staying at POR, so no balcony to dry towels. Does anyone throw their beach towels in the dryer nightly or after use?

We have these awesome Disney backpack towels. (Towels that turn into a backpack.) Mine has Ariel & Richard's has Buzz.

We've always taken some of our older, threadbare towels that don't take up much space. I don't like renting because the towels are small and if someone else "uses" your towel, they don't replace them, you have to rent again. Like someone else mentioned, my own towels make it much easier to identify my stuff. We always buy a beach towel as our souvenir, but I wait till our way out of the park because I've heard of others having their new towels stolen.
