I know that housekeeping is not provided at OKW, but what is the policy for towels and linens. Are towels provided and is it up to us to wash them or change them in for new ones? Are linens supplied and the beds made when we arrive?
Thanks

The beds are all made (with a few towel animals perhaps!). If you are staying on points then you will need to wash towels (love the full size washer and dryer). There were plenty of towels in our 2 bedroom unit for the five of us. If you are staying more than 4 nights you will get trash and towel service on the fourth day. Mousekeeping will supply you with clean towels, empty trash cans, and give new supplies of shampoo, etc. We loved our unit. It was clean and very spacious. Have fun!

you also have the option (if your staying on points) to pay for daily full housekeeping. But you do receive fresh towels on day 4 of your trip.

Personally, I think if they would change their housekeeping schedule and include a full cleaning every other day, it would cut down on these horror stories you hear about regarding dirty rooms and damage.

There will be enough towels for the occupancy limit of the unit. In a Studio & 1BR you will have 4 towels/washcloths, in a 2BR you will have 8 of each and in a Grand Villa you will have 12 of each.

If you are in a 1BR or larger you will have a washer/dryer in your unit. If you are in a Studio there are free washers/dryers in laundry rooms near the pools. You will need to provide your own laundry detergent/softener.

For stays of 8 days or less you will get a Trash & Towel service on day 4. The trash will be taken out and the towels will be exchanged for new ones. No other housekeeping will be done. For stays of 8 days or more you will get a full cleaning on Day 4 and a Trash & Towel on Day 8. That pattern will repeat so for long stays you'd have another full cleaning on Day 12 and a T&T on Day 16.

As another poster said, if you are staying on points you can pay for daily housekeeping if you'd like. If you are staying on a cash reservation daily housekeeping is included. Personally, we prefer having no daily maid service but you have the option to do whatever works for you.

CraftyMouse gave you a great run down on everything. I just wanted to add that the new linens they had at OKW this year were SIGNIFICANTLY better than the old ones. Nicer larger sheets, and nicer thicker towels, and the new pillows were heavenly!

As for daily or semi-daily housekeeping...I don't want it. I LOVE not having to worry about when housekeeping is coming in. I feel more like it's my own home, and with all the amenities of home, I prefer to take care of things myself. We usually do throw our towels in the wash every other day with the exception of T&T day when we know we are getting new ones anyway.

Thanks for all the info. We really don't care about housekeeping also. We are staying in a studio so it will be off to the pool area for the washer and dryer.

I only wash towels once a week, so I don't wash towels at DVC. Unless we use our beach towels that we bring for the water parks.

You don't have to wash towels if you don't want to.

Us too! We just hang them up after we dry off and use them again.

If you don't want to wash towels, you can order a new towel pack (4 bath, 2 hand, 4 washcloths and mat) for $6 from housekeeping.
