My family of 5 stayed at AKL at the end of May. Over the course of 10 days, we got 3 towel animals. When dh and I visited the same resort sans children in October, we received no towel animals.

Well - apparently there is no rhyme or reason to getting a towel animal! Just pixie dust I guess.

BTW - I've NEVER been upset about not getting them - that's not why I'm asking. Just curious since the only time we did we had a 6 year old with us.

P.S. - chiconh - I read your tribute page to your daughter. God bless your family.

We got three towel animals a few weeks ago at CSR. My DDs 2 and 5 just loved looking at the towel animals in the windows on the first floor. A man, Mr. Maxi from mouse keeping saw how much they liked them and brought three up to our room for the girls. We got a koala, turkey and dog that now all sit in special places in our bedrooms. ( The dog is two pieces, so he sits on the shelf above my bed.)

When my family went we received one towel animal at the Contemporary. When I went back to celebrate my 50th birthday with my best friend we stayed at WL concierge. I returned to the room and it was taken over by towel animals. There were enough of those critters to take back to my entire class of students with a some left over. The sweet mousekeeper insisted that I keep them. I know I have received more than my share. I don't expect them, it was nice but childen should be the ones to get them in the room.

We have been visiting WDW as a family since 1992. Last year was the first time we have ever recieved towel animals. We were staying at Ft. W cabins. We have 5 children, so there are teddy bears and toys everywhere. I bring a larger Mickey bobble head for our cabin window, Mickey paper towels for the kitchen, etc.

Each day we returned to find the children's toys set up in a funny, cute, way. About 5 of the 7 days we got towel animals - birds, canoe, and the biggest alligator I've ever seen(made of several towels of various sizes) - it was on the bottom bed of the bunk beds.

The children really enjoyed it. It is not expected but a welcome surprise.

We stayed a WL when my kids were two and three. My parents were also at WL during that time. They got towel animals, we didn't.

It was just the two of us on our Honeymoon last month. We stayed at POR and ended up with a towel dog, bunny, and cat. Really cute. :goodvibes

We got towel animals every night on the Wonder both trips but never recall getting towel animals at Beach Club or AKL.
Hoping they will still make them when we are staying at POP this Oct!

I received one just this week at POR. It was just me traveling solo, no kids. It is the frist time I had ever received one in my three stays at a Disney resort. And this was the first time I left a monetary tip so I will bet that is the reason i received the towel animal. My animal looked like jar jar binks from star wars.

We stayed at POR last December for 5 nights, we had our daughters collection of stuffed animals rearranged on 4 of those days...The other 2 families with us didn't get any towel animals either.

We took pictures of the stuffed animals and the other 2 families were excited to see the arrangements as well.

i got towel animals every day of my stay on sept 2004 and it was me and my mom
it was sooo awesome
they got bigger and better everyda
we stayed at the WL

We have never been lucky enough to receive one! We have stayed at ASMU, CBR, WL, CR and the Dolphin. They only resort to do anything "cute" was ASMU...they would arrange the kids beanies/animals each day. The ages of our kids first on-site visit was 5 and 10...and last visit 10 and 14. One day maybe,,,we will get to see what one looks like! :wizard:
And we tip pretty nicely...but I think it just has to do with time, if Mousekeeping is able to, they will take the time....maybe.......

We have children and we got towel animals almost every day of our stay at the CBR in May. The mousekeeping staff was fabulous! They even arranged our kids stuffed animals in the window along with the towel animals so it was the first thing the kids saw on our return from the parks. It was truly awesome seeing their faces light up and how excited they were!

7 Days at AKL in Apri/May...no towel animals

8 Days at POR in June.....still no towel animals

:confused3

bummed out that I have never seen one but mousekeeping did always at AKL and 80% of the time at POR set up my kids stuffed animals, etc. One day at POR I swear mousekeeping must have been raelly bored (hehehe) they set up over 20 matchbox and disney themed mathcbox type cars with all the little possable Disney figures we had...it was a hoot!!!

DD5 and I got them at Pop Century this past May, but as a family, we never did before. Well, we did get them on the Disney Cruise, but I think that is expected there.

See this is why I dont understand WDW :confused3 Why it has become an "issue" so many get them and its "expected" on the Cruise... well darn it, no wonder we "expect" it!

We stayed at a Deluxe resort, 8 days, no animals, no expectations of animals then, and we tipped each day, and always talked to the mousekeepers in the hallway...

This really shouldnt be this hard, or problematic
