At the Swan we never had towel animals, but we did have our own Winnie the Pooh and hockey Mickey usually tucked into bed, holding the candy and the next day's weather report. I have heard of people writing a note to housekeeping requesting towel animals. You might try that and hope that your housekeeper knows how to do that!
If you want to add more magic to your trip, you could come up with excuses to be in your room when your children aren't, and leave little gifts from their favorite character out where they'll see them when they walk in the door! We did that a few trips ago, and to this day our children don't know what we did!
You should not "expect" towel animals at any Disney Resort including the S/D even though they are tech. not Disney owned resorts. Towel animals are random acts of magic that depend on the housekeeper.
Originally posted by G-gang We will be there on August 31--arriving around 3 p.m. and leaving on September 8--mid-morning. I'll keep my eyes open for the lime green ribbon.
I wear one tied to my waist pack. On our last trip we meet people from the DIS who also stayed at AKL Concierge and went on the Sunrise Safari. I will also keep a look out for Lime Green Ribbon.
