Ok, so I have read TR's by people who have visited DLP on their own and had a fantastic time - but I'm still rather nervous about the idea :confused3

I have an opportunity in August to visit DLP for a 3 night / 4 day trip - but as my friends (obviously must be rather ill) aren't into Disney as much as I, it would mean I would need to visit on my own.

I need your advice Disboard'ians, what do I do?! Or better yet, what would you do?! Is 4 days alone in Disney a bit too adventurous or could it be as magical as I'd like to imagine :wizard:

Obviously there would be plenty to keep me occupied with the parades / shows / fireworks... :surfweb: hmmmm

okay, I know I would have absolutely no issues going on my own and filling up my days at DLP - but would you feel more lonely of an evening/in your out-of-park time?

See, I was wondering more about my in-park-time? The park will be shutting late in the evening as it will be Summer - and I would basically be happy enough after a long day going and having a little night-cap (has to be done :cutie: ) and then heading to bed... This would be no different than my days in London - going to work, heading home - fixing dinner, watching a bit of tv, maybe meeting friends and then heading to bed. So the evenings don't worry me as much.

I forgot to mention, as I speak French I do have a few friends from Paris... and also have a few friends who actually work in DLP itself (they're VERY good friends with a few of the characters if you catch my drift :wizard: ). So in the evenings I was planning on meeting up with them.

During the day I don't know if it would seem lonely strolling along the parks with nobody to share the magic with? Am I worrying needlessly? :scared1:

It does seem from other trip reports that lots of DISers do it and really enjoy it! But I think you would need to be sure and confident, because probably the only thing that would stop you enjoying a day in Disney alone would be your own worries. It might not be the right kind of trip for everyone, but I bet there are loads of ways to have fun on your own!
Think about it, you can't really talk to people on rides or in shows anyway :rotfl:

You're totally right Lola!

I always panic about doing things on my own and then when I do them - love every second of it !

The strange part about it all is I once left this country on my own and worked abroad, and that never worried me at all

Oh my, I think I'm going to actually do this

I have always thought it would be so nice to actually be able to stroll along the parks and take everything in by myself and do what I fancy when I fancy... especially as everyone I've ever visited the parks with aren't huge fans - they just come for the ride lol

I've never done Disney alone but when I was visiting my cousin in London last year she was working during the day and I had to keep myself amused. I loved it, hopping on and off the tube, making last minute decisions on what to do and where to go without having to consider anyone else. So that makes me think that a solo Disney trip would be fun!

Hi,
I would love to give a solo trip a go. you could take in everything and every lovely detail that you may miss walking from land to land as you maybe talking to others or listening to what they are talking about, but being on your own you don't have that distraction. There are always things that i find new on every trip. Also being a solo rider on the rides you may get on them a lot quicker too (always a bonus). You maybe able to try different restaraunts that your friends/family you normally go with won't try.
You can go at your own pace too. also having friends in France/dlp is always nice as you know you can break up the trip by meeting up with them. and it's nice to know they are close too.
How exciting for you to consider a solo trip. :wizard:

if I were to go on a solo trip, I'd spend a large proportion of my days on Phantom Manor and the Snow White ride - because DD won't go on them again :rotfl::rotfl:.

That is a very valid point... I live in London and many weekends I have a walk around the city on my own and visit museums etc, or see a show... I don't even think twice about that!

Shouldn't be hugely different in Disney... just be that bit more AMAZING! :yay:

Go for it!! :cool1:

You can do exactly whatever you want :thumbsup2 then you've got friends there that you can meet up with for a meal/drink/chat ~ sounds to me like the best of both worlds! :goodvibes

 Karen you are so right, I am actually getting really excited about this now - and I shall be booking over the weekend most likely :surfweb:

Elaine, I just need my POTC fix!! I will spend the 4 days on my own on a boat in there knowing me!! :rotfl2:

Now I have to decide if I want to stay in Sequoia Lodge or New York... New York is the last hotel on my list that I haven't yet tried... people always seem to give it really good reviews too :confused3
