Just looking at the official site and came across info on backstage tours - I've done these at WDW and would love to find out more info about booking, cost etc....any help would be great thanks!

We did the main park tour last October - you book at City Hall. Can't remember what it cost but it was reasonable. It lasted 2 hours and we must have walked about 20 miles (slight exaggeration but that's what it felt like!!!) It was very interesting and the CM pointed out all sorts of details that you'd normally miss. We went to every land and had a few behind the scenes visits too. We were the only 2 on our tour so it was a bit intensive but worth it. They do one at the studios park too. I think children would find it a bit too much walking and talking if there are any in your party.

The guided tour at the DLP last 2 hours and is 15€ the one at the WDS last 1 hour and is 10€. You can book it at the City Hall or the Information at the WDS.

Thanks, that has confirmed our gut feel of why we have not done this yet. Mum are we there yet, mum are we................

I wouldn't have thought so unless you're going in a very busy time - probably not even then.

Hi,

Diana, I'm thinking of going on the tour on my next visit, could you give me any more information on what 'behind the scenes' stuff you see please?

Thanks.

There wasn't much - we went behind the scenes on Star Tours and saw the X-wing fighter empty and how they make it do all the various movements. We also had a look behind the scenes on Space Mountain (the old version) but I'm ashamed to say I can't remember anything about that. I'll ask Rhiannon and she'll post later - she remembers details much better than me! It may have changed but that's what it was like for us last October. Definitely worth doing if you like the little details and secrets.

Not much to add really, all I remember about going behind the scenes in Space Mountain was standing behind a curtain and being able to see the ride (although it was very dark) - seeing how fast it went was very offputting for me!! But interesting since it's an indoor ride so you wouldn't ever be able to watch it otherwise.

It probably didn't help that we did the tour after we'd already been there for a couple of days, so our feet were already tired, but we really felt exhausted afterwards! We had a cast member called Bala and he really rushed around! We collapsed in seats in the Discovery Arcade afterwards! It was interesting though, when it first started I wondered if it was going to be really basic and we were already going to know a lot of stuff since we'd been before, but Bala told us a lot we didn't know.

There are 2 tours a day, and they're done in different languages - obviously the most common are French and English but there's also Spanish, German, Dutch and Italian - at least one tour a day is done in either French or English, so you're likely to find an English tour most days, but don't leave it till the last day in case the tours that day are French and one of the other languages (unless you're bilingual of course!)

We have done the tour in May. And it was great. Our guide didn't rush around that much like diberrys and we don't felt exhausted afterwards! It was great to lern all that litle details. I have been there so many times, but I learned so much new. And by the way; we only had the chance to look at the backstage area of Star Tours!
And maleficent_man, a Behind the Scences Tour like in WDW does not exist in DLRP. It is "just" a guided tour with one (or two) behind the scenes looks.

Thanks for getting back, it sounds great - definitely going to book myself on it next visit.

Hope they still go behind the scene on Space Mountain

Cheers
