Anyone done the various tours? Any good ones? Worth the $$? Is The fantasmic PS worth it??? Thanks!

My husband took the Walk in Walts tour last year. He really enjoyed it. It came with lunch, and they mailed us a neat pin after the trip. The highlight of the tour was the visit to the lobby of club 33.

A month a go we took the VIP tour. Its expensive, but worth it! Its a min. of 4 hours, $75 per hour. YOu can have up to 10 people for that rate. They will design your tour around what you want to see and do. For us, she was our fast pass "runner", got us to the front of the line for some characters, got our dd picked for Jedi training, rode the Lilly Belle car on the train around the park, and we had reserved seating for a parade and fireworks one day and a couple of shows/ parades the following day. Really, a lot for the money, especially for 6 people.

We wanted to do the discover the magic tour, but they were not offering when we were there. I've heard it's great if you have children.

Im thinking of having a tour for my dad (and family) as a fathers day present, but im worried that the tours will just tell him things he already knew. So do the tours really tell you neat facts, or just like "heres the castle, heres tomorrowland"? Did you think it was worth the money?

The Walk in Walts tour has lots of little bits of info. They take you to the tiki room and tell you why it was special at the time it was made, the lobby of club 33, and various other things around the park. If you are big Disney geeks you might not learn a lot. My husband knew a lot of the info already because we are geeks and my BIL used to manage the Blue Bayou. But, dh still really enjoyed the tour.

The VIP tour depends on what you want the tour to be and who your guide is. We had children with us (5 and 8), so we wanted more fun things then info. We did learn some things though, and the ride in the Lilly Belle train car was very special.

But, to answer your question NO, they dont just say "here is tomorrowland". They'll point out what was special in tomorrowland, maybe where the house of the future sat when the park was new or something along those lines. Which tour are you considering?

Just in terms of the the $$ - if you have AAA or the Disney Visa you get 20% off.

Probably A Walk in Walt's Footsteps, it seems to have the most trivia, and my dad is a HUGE disney fan!

Do you think also get a discount on top of AAA for the tour if you have Premium AP :rolleyes1 ? TIA :thumbsup2

I was unaware of that! So do I just tell them I have a Disney Vias and use it to pay and i get the discount? Am i better off booking it before we go or when we get there?

The tours are non-refundable. So I prefer to book once I get there -- just in case something happens and we can't make it. However, during busier times, you may need to book in advance.

Where was the lunch? What was the lunch? Whay was the pin not given to you and mailed instead? what time of day was it?

We booked as soon as we could (up to 30 days before) beacuse we are going in June.

I just told them I had AAA they asked for my AAA card number and then charged me the discounted rate. I will have to show the card again when I get there. It was easy.

The lunch was served at the gallery above Pirates. There was a few things to choose from, and you order when you check in for the tour. I think there was a cob salad, a chili and cornbread thing (something that was special to Walt) and I want to say a sandwich, but I'm not sure of that. Then there was dessert. I know one was cheesecake, not sure what else was offered.

The pin was a special addition during the 50th. I dont know if they were out of stock at the time of if is standard for them to mail them. It was a small pin (postage stamp size), that was Walt walking through the castle (classic picture). Ours were all gold tone. I think they are normally the picture in color.

He took the tour on a Sunday morning. I want to say at 9am or so.
