Ok so I am seeing all these Tours that you can take. Having never experienced any of them I am quite intrigued. But with the pricing I'm not sure if I want to do them all.

Anyone got any advice, tips, previous experience? The Segway tour looks cool as does the welcome to disneyland one. But I am not a 'newbie' and have a woking knowledge of disney history, so i dont want to spend money on a rehash of stuff I already know. (the walt's footsteps seems like this type from what i have found)

What about the discover the magic? Would 2 adults, who are into disney enjoy it? Or should I save it or our next family trip with the 4 DD's.

I await the bestowment of the knowledge that can only come from my fellow DIS'ers.

DH and I just did the Segway tour a couple of weeks ago. We really enjoyed it! Our guides Carmen and Kirsten were great. We got muffins, fruit and juice (tour starts at 7:15). They gave us some trivia along the tour (some I knew, some I didn't) and pointed out Hidden Mickeys. If you have a Disney Visa or Annual Pass you get 20% off (so $79). If you do this tour just remember you must wear close-toed shoes. There was a couple on our tour that had to reschedule because they were wearing flip flops. At the end of the tour you get a group photo on your Segways, as well as a pin. I would definitely recommend it! :thumbsup2

I've done the Segway and Discover the Magic Tour (with our kids). I think you'd enjoy the Segway tour for an adults only trip. Save the DTM tour for your family to do together, since it is really more kid-oriented.

I would do the Segway Tour bc you get to tour DCA on Segways! Uber cool. :thumbsup2

I like A Walk In Walt's Footsteps bc each tour guide is different & one might say something that another one didn't mention. Even though I know DL like the back of my hand & better, I still like going on this tour once every couple of years bc it's like a box of chocolates (& you know the rest).

The Welcome to Disneyland tour is for newbies & I've been reccommended to not take it bc CMs bc it's a basic tour of both parks. The only perk is getting in the front of the line on rides.

The Discover the Magic Tour would be something to do w/ kids bc it's a scavenger hunt through the park. I've never done it, but it sounds cool & I'd do it if I had a kid w/ me. Hopefully they don't pay too much attention to the kids & kick the adults to the curb.

DangerMouse, how old were your kids when you did the Discover the Magic tour with them? I'm fairly certain you posted about this before, but it was awhile back and I can't remember. Did you think it was a good age? In some spots that tour is advertised for kids as young as three and other places say it's geared for five to twelve.

I'm still torn between the Magic tour and Christmas tour.

3Tinks, we took this tour a few years ago, before they changed the format of the scavenger hunt to work with Pirate's Island.

When we went, my kids were 9, 6 and 4, and it seemed just the right age for them to go. They enjoyed the personal character interaction and the clues and hunting around the park. My 4 year old took the CM by the hand and basically led her around the park so she wouldn't get lost! :lmao: Guess that's when you know you've taken your kids to DLR too much!

I think I'd have a hard time deciding between the two tours as well, especially because the Christmas tour comes with special parade seating, doesn't it? How old are the kids in your group?
