After a couple of years of walking through the mall and completely avoiding the flat iron hair people, they finally got me to stop last week. The salesgirl demostrated the clipless tourmaline curling iron on my hair and I actually really liked it. It surprised me. Anyway, I was really 'sold' on it until she told me the price tag ... $200. I was not prepared to that so I walked away. Now, a week later, I am still thinking about it and would like it for a Christmas present, but still don't want DH to spend that much.

I've seen some on Amazon for a lot cheaper, but am not sure about the quality.

Does anyone have one of these kinds of curling irons? Love it? Hate it?

They have used the curling iron on me at the mall and if worked very well. I considered getting for DD thinking it would be easy to curl DD hair with for Cheer but couldnt afford it.

I did however get the flat iron from them and I know they can come down on their price. I got them down like 50 bucks from what they origninally told me. So if you really want it then haggle with them

What I got for DD is a CHI 1/2 inch ceramic curling iron today at TJ Maxx for 16.99. It does have the clamp like a regular curling iron but OMG it is fabulous!!!! (of course after buying it I had to come home and test it, lol) It may be an alternative for you. I think I like it more because I was affraid with the one at the mall I'd end up burning myself trying to wrap the hair around it. With the clamp I dont have to worry about it.

I also got my DD13 a CHI curling iron. I paid about $50 for the hers off of Amazon but it works fabulously. I have become pretty good at curling her hair cute and I am not a hair person:laughing:

, wow that was a great steal!!!

Yes, I think I got a great price on it. I have the reg old curling irons that I've used on DD hair in the past and there is no comparison.

I checked Amazon and this is the one I found at TJ Maxx but the color was red, not pink.

Also wanted to add that Marshals and TJ Maxx sell the same brand flat irons they have in the mall for 30.00 ! I found this out last year after I had already dished out 100.00 at the mall for one.

wow thanks for your links

My neighbor called me the other day and was frantic..she had left this exact iron at the hotel she was on vacation at and it was not found. She was very upset..yes worth it lol

We just saw a "no clamp" curling iron at Target the other day. I think it was $40. I thought that was expensive, but I am pretty cheap on that stuff. I was blessed with naturally curly, wash and wear hair!

However, I will spend big bucks to keep those darn greys covered!!!:lmao:

I got one for my DD and it works great! I justified the price because it saved me money to do her hair myself for figure skating competitions rather than pay a pro. We've had it for about 5 years now and DD(14 in 2 months:scared1:) still curls her own hair with it:thumbsup2
