I have always wanted to see the sunrise in Maine.....okay what else would you tell a tourist to see in Maine? I am thinking about a trip.....

Also, can you climb the highest point relatively easily? (dh is a high point nut, me I like the beach)

Don't forget to have a lobster roll and some steamers! Arcadia National Park is very nice too. There's also some great white water rafting. Mt. Katahdin is the highest point in Maine within Baxter State Park. It's a nice hike and not very strenuous.

Lighthouses!!!!
We're going to Kennebunkport area in 9 days! If you like shopping, there are lots of outlets too.

Just went to Bar Harbor/Acadia Nat. Park a few weeks ago...

Cadillac Mountain is the highest point actually ON the eastern coast of the US. You can drive or hike it - it's really pretty up there and if it's a clear day the sunrise is gorgeous. The entire area is wonderful - check it out!

I went to a conference in Portland, ME, a couple of years ago and loved it! One thing I wished I had done is spent time in Kennebunk -- I drove through it and it looked like a great place to walk around! Very quaint, but unfortunatley very busy (Discoverer's day weekend) when I was there.

I had a nice time driving along the coast and visited a couple of lighthouses.

If you like to shop, be sure to spend a day in Freeport...it is great!

From what I understand, the sunrises at Acadia Natl. Park are incredible.
