Is there another web site that I can check the expected crowds for the dates we're going to be at DLR? We're going 9/5-9/9. I've never used TouringPlans, and don't really want to pay $6.95 just to find out expected crowds. Is there a free site that has that info?:confused3

Thanks~

Touring Plans should have the next few months up for free if you click on the "crowd calendar" tab. I think they do 90 days out. I know my October dates were up there the other day...

I know a lot of people here don't like Touring Plans that much, but I've always felt like their predictions were pretty good. Of course, we usually go in the off season, so the difference between a 3 and a 5 could be negligible...

Give that a try, or I'm sure someone else will chime in with another option. Have a great trip!

TP has 1's for 9/5-9/6, 4's for 9/7 and 9/9 and a 5 for 9/8.
Have fun!

I just subscribed and got the app. I saw the 1s for the 4th-6th and that's when we're going. Yay!!!!

I have to say the copying their plan to your custom one sucks because it doesn't reflect the actual date after "optimizing", or at least it didn't for me. Also I don't like how it won't let you delete a plan. What kind of an app doesn't allow you to delete. It's bizarre.

That said, the plans themselves look pretty solid.

I am in agreement. :thumbsup2

How much is your time worth. If you save 10 minutes in line is that work 8 bucks? 30 mins? An hour?

You could always use the Mobile Magic app from Disney. That has wait times (sort of...) for most attractions while you're in the park. I found TouringPlans' Lines app to be more accurate though.

Mousewait is another smartphone app that is worth considering - it's free.

I do agree. I was just being a brat and complaining about the design but yes the time saving part is invaluable.

Mousewait I have. It looks pretty good too.

There much more functionality if you build you plans online on a PC then use them through the app. you can do all those things.

I'm a dufus and hadn't even gotten on the computer to check yet. Right you are!

Thank you!!! :thumbsup2

On our trip in June, I used a combination of Mousewait and another free app called Free Disneyland Maps. I really liked the Free Maps app because it had the wait times displayed on a map of DLR or DCA. Since it was the first time we had ever been there, it was extremely helpful to see how close/far we were from the attraction.

Thanks so much! I didn't know what to expect at DCA, since DL is closing at 5:00pm on the 6th. My big concern is getting to ride RSR at least once (hopefully twice!) during the time we're there, and all the shenanagans that you have to go through to plan to do that is what's concerning me! :rotfl2:

This is true, but how can TP possibly predict crowds this year since the new DCA has radically changed crowd patterns and there's no previous data to base this prediction on?

Agree. There is no person or program that can accurately predict Carsland. I am using TP.com but consider it just a guideline, and look at the levels relative to other days. Not perfect but better than nothing for the park as a whole.

That is a good question. I would imagine it would be based upon the percentage that crowds increased due to DCA so far this year. This should allow a base average over a few months time. While it will be a harder target then normal to predict, I am sure it can get it fairly close.

Disney themselves I am sure would be doing something similar to forecast staff and products to sell. This is highly tracked and monitored year for them and getting these trending patterns right can make a big difference to the experience of those in the parks and to their budget.

I really like TP. I have used it for WDW before and found it very accurate. Never DL, but I purchased it and find Lines seem to be following what live reporters state in forum.
Not a super fan of the new layout for costume touring plans. It seems to have a lot of nice feature, but not very user friendly and I wish I could combine both parks together for more optimal planning.

I agree with you. It would be great if you could use the Touring Plan to schedule both parks at once, using the park hopper option. I would further love a feature to add parades and shows. If either of these features exist... I was not able to find them. I think it would make it a much more complete tool.

You can add parades and shows in the PC version. The Showtimes are reflected once Disney publishes the schedule. No hopping through, you have to do separate plans.
