Can you use this if you booked your trip with a travel agency? DO you really have a better shot at your room request using this?

It says some buildings technically in a "Preferred" building are not all "Preferred". Is that true??

I would assume as long as you have a reservation number but that will have to be double checked. I used it in 2015 and got the exact room I requested but it's never a sure thing.

I don't see why not. You do need your reservation # as @ShayBells said.

We have had good luck using this service. Our rooms have been either exactly what we wanted or very nearby. Apparently (or so I've heard) the language used by Touring Plans is the same as what the room assigners use. I expect that it makes it easy for them.

Good luck!

We used the service last summer, also got the exact room we requested too!
Looking forward to seeing if it works again next month!

Without sounding too 'stupid'... do you have to subscribe to their annual service to have access to the 'room request' tool? Or is this a separate process?

Possibly what this is is that in preferred sections there are a few rooms that are considered pool view or king bed. You could get those rooms under either category.

Believe so, because if you click on a room to view there is a link that says, "subscribe to request this room"

I'm not sure because I have been subscribing to TP for a while and always have been when using this service. However, it is very inexpensive to subscribe to TP and the website is a good resource.. It is worth the small fee, IMO.

Yes. You can use the locator tool to find a location you want and request that on your own by phone or whatever (well, actually a TA might have to do that...I don't believe in using them, so I don't know) but to have them send the fax in room-assigner-speak, you need to subscribe to the service.

Thanks for all the replies, i subscribed last night.... Can't see the tab or link to the service to request a particular room though?

When you look through the room plans, you can pick a room and it will give you an option to create a request. You can also "configure a fax" on your dashboard.

You can select "Configure a fax" from the dashboard. You will need your reservation number. They supply sample language but you can customize it with the room/rooms/view you are requesting within your booking category.

The big advantage to leaving the sample language in there is that it is in "room assigner speak" with the same coding they use so they can more easily understand the location you are requesting. I do my explanation and my priority order of the requests in the box.

My Dashboard only says Request Room, it doesn't say Configure Fax. Does that come later? I'm 88 days out yet...

Yes. I see it now, I have to actually pick a specific room. I was hitting Request Room and then picking the options on the left and it wasn't doing anything. I see it now.
