Touring without late return FP

Thanks for the idea Planogirl to just stay in the same land. Guess we can grab the most popular FP for that area, do what we can in that time frame, and move on. I feel ya on DHS and Star Tours. When at Disneyland my son insists on this at least 2x a day. There isn't enough Aleve in the world to make me ride it more than once per day.
Or TWO lands. Fantasyland and Frontierland are very convenient to one another with only tiny Liberty Square between them. We easily walk from one to the other.

Tomorrowland we handle separately and usually later in the day. Except for that pesky Space Mountain. I'm not a big fan of this ride so I try to talk DS out of it. We can always grab Buzz fastpasses later on and enjoy the less popular attractions in TL while we wait for our time.

Here's an explanation for ya.

From http://www.padgadget.com/2012/05/01/disney-uses-ipads-to-speed-up-lines-at-theme-parks/

(I bolded a sentence that amused me. :))

That sounds kind of cool. So basically you'd pick your line up of attractions for the day and Disney will disperse times? Interesting. I'm guessing this will be at an extra cost to us?

Good point about TSM @ DCA. We were there when it first opened and there I was looking around for the FP kiosk as everyone was walking past me. Finally asked a CM and he said no FP's..I was like...WHAT??? :scared:

From then on we've stayed @ GC and get into the park earlier than non-DL resort guests and escorted even to TSM. We're able to walk on TSM and be the FIRST ones in line for California Screamin after we get of TSM. It's quite a site to watch the "general public" rushing over the bridge towards TSM..seriously..it's like that scene from the Lion King in the gorge..lol.

Splash & Space Mtn I would think would be the next most popular rides to fun out of FP's..but TSM is BY FAR the quickest IMO.

We stay the GCV too and it's amazing. The proximity to DCA is unreal. We do the same thing. Head straight to TSMM and then to Screamin while of course grabbing a FP for Soarin as we enter. :thumbsup2 I think I could handle Disneyland much better than WDW as I'm much more familiar with it. I'm lost when it comes to WDW. :upsidedow

You would be paired up with an odd numbered party in the stand-by line. More than one in your party might be on the same EE train, but how close together is strictly chance.

Hmmm.....not sure DS would love EE without one of us with him. That might not work then. It could work for splash though.

I wish I could talk them out of Space Mnt. ;) I like it but once a day is plenty. With the FP enforcement, that may be all they get. They'd have 10 FPs for multiple rides and ride like mad at the end of the night. So crazy. I didn't realize how close FL and FrL are together. That does make it a little more doable.

Anyone have a link to or list of current FP attractions at the 4 WDW parks? :flower3:

Pesky Space Mountain is a good term for it. We'd skip Tomorrowland all together, if it wasn't for SM.

I'm trying to think of what's in WDW's TL: Buzz, Space, Stitch, Peoplemover......I kinda of like it. I keep thinking Star Tours is in TL but that's at Disneyland. I'm cross referencing my parks. :upsidedow

Also Astro Orbiter and Monsters Inc Laugh Floor.

Don't forget that you still have to walk through Liberty Square but we don't mind so early in the day. There isn't much in Liberty Square and it tends to be quiet early on. Later on, it can of course be packed which to me is another good reason to get the mountains done early.

As someone who has never used the loophole, I can share how I always tour and it is during the busy summer months. Maybe that will help? We always get to park at opening and head to the headliners. Get fast passes for BTTMRR get in line for splash, get fast passes for Tot ride RNR, get fast pass for TSM and watch little Mermaid. We often do a break and save the rides that do not always run out of fastpasses to ride in the evening...Buzz, etc.

Just curious. How much of a need is there in Oct for FPs?

Do FPs still run out for TSMM or Soarin in Oct?

Pretty much the same as any other time of year. Almost every southern school district has fall break, Columbus week, Food & Wine and a Marathon. Its not like July, but FP are just as necessary - TSMM has the same crowd anytime of year. Soarin does from what I've experience and read (we don't do Soarin that much - underwhelming, IMHO).

And also alot of UK schools have their fall break during mid-Oct. We actually have asked a few families that we have sparked up conversations with because we were curious why there were so many families from the UK there in Oct.

Good idea. What order do you do the mountains? I'm counting Space, Splash, and BTMRR. Am I missing a mountain?

:thumbsup2 This is great! Thank you. This is exactly what I'm a looking for: a game plan for riding and obtaining FP.

And I think the UK gets amazing deals too during October. I'm planning on crowds, not summer or holiday crowds, but like we saw in May.

If we want ride it on that day, we get fastpasses for Space Mountain and then go over to the other two. We ride whichever one of those two has the shortest line and as soon as we can get fastpasses for the other one.

It really depends a lot on how crowded it is.

I was a total late fast pass user also. With young kids, I loved it because we could still rest in the afternoon & use our fast passes later.

Not sure what we're gonna do this time. Going in August so staying at the park all day is not an option, we'll need that afternoon break. I guess we'll just do what we can and make the best of it! :thumbsup2

gotta admit that we are more than bummed about the FP return enforcement. we have had many incredible trips where we would compile FP's in the first half of hte day in order to use in the second half. this gave us virtually wait free days and total freedom with regards to itinerary. this was particularly true for us in CA while we lived there.

Good idea. Think Space runs out of FP before Splash? I haven't a clue about October crowds but I'm guessing not as busy as the holidays but just a level under that.

Please come back and let me know how you did? :goodvibes Our kids aren't younger but we still love our midday breaks. I'm thinking ing this means more rope dropping for us. That's the only way I'm thinking we can still get it all in and have our break. We've really grown to love our resort and pool time.

This is exactly what we did. :thumbsup2 It worked really well. I am thinking about subscribing to RideMax to see what it looks like on paper before we go.
