We are going on our first trip to WDW in December. As our home is in GCV and we are looking into adding on sooner or later, we wanted to spend some time touring each dvc location/resorts.

Do those of you that have been there before think 2 days is enough time to alot to getting a good feel for all the different resorts and what they have to offer?

Two days should be plenty of time. Start by having your Guide set you up for a tour of the models at the Preview Center and also BLT. You can see the BWV model on your own. The rest of the resorts don't have a formal tour so you need to check with the Front Desk to see if they can show you a unit.

Another suggestion is that you book a split stay at a couple of the non touring resorts where you have the greatest interest.

Have fun! :goodvibes

Right now we have 7 days at BLT and 3 at AKV (3 Dec to 13 Dec) I am not as worried with the rooms as I am about seeing what is around each area and the flavor of each if you will. Just wanted to see if 2 days would allow me time to walk it all. I think if I went for more my kids would mutiny....I keep trying to tell them there is more to do than rides....there not buying it.:rotfl:

Thanks for the reply!

You need to take some time to check out the holiday decorations at the resorts also. In addition to the DVC tour, you should take the monorail to the GF, it has beautiful decorations.

I think 2 days is plenty since you will already be staying at 2 of them on your trip. I think you idea is very very wise before adding on. There is nothing better than at the least a walk around at each even if you can't get a peek at each a every room at each resort, you will still for sure get a feel for which is right for you.

We just did the same thing at Hilton Head on our first visit there.
We penciled in only 1 day to visit Marriots and other places prior to our Disney HHI stay. I wish I penciled in 2 days to shop around! It was the best thing to do for sure since we are looking to add on. A lot of the if's and but's were eliminated because of this and it really really has helped us make a happy decision.

would go with 3 days - just so you can see some of WDW while you are there.

I think you can easily do what you are thinking about as well as seeing plenty of WDW. While at EPCOT you could take an hour or two and walk over to BCV and BWV. Take a bus from one of the parks to OKW, walk around and then take the boat to DTD. From there you can walk over to SSR and get a feel for that resort. While at the MK you could take the boat to VWL and back. Since you are staying at AKV and BLT that doesn't take any extra time. You might even plan a meal at Turf Club at SSR or Olivias at OKW and then do a walk around. There are several options that won't take a lot of time away from the activities your family wants to do and might even be fun for all especially as PP said the holiday decorations will be up and are definitely worth seeing. I spent an afternoon one year doing the rounds of the resorts while my son was at Disney Quest and had a wonderful riding the buses, boats, monorail as well as seeing the decorations and resorts. Hope you have a marvelous trip.

If you have the opportunity, I would definitely encourage you to see if you can visit an actual OKW unit. The size and layout is very different from BWV, AKV, BCV, SSR.

This is an outstanding idea. Your time won't be so much spent on the touring....its the getting around from resort to resort that'll probably take more of your time. Having a plan that includes buses and boats, etc to get around is great. Also, the idea of taking the boat from Okw to DTD, then walking to Saratoga, then hopping a bus to....wherever allows you to walk the grounds and actually get a feel for what the transportation is like as opposed to say.....just driving a car from place to place. But if you do drive a car from place to place, you'll find that many of the DVC resorts are gated, so you'd have to tell the gate attendant that you are just doing a driving tour to check out the grounds...should be no problem.

Oh, and one more thing. I don't know if this fits into your touring plans, but I do know that if you setup a tour with a guide at SSR (although this may not be necessary in your case), DVC will pick you up in a van where you are staying, bring you to SSR and then either take you back to where you originated or to anywhere else to drop you off....so....a bit more free transportation if you decided to be dropped at any of the other DVC resorts.

One suggestion to keep the kids happy and still see a resort is that at least once a day dine at a table restaurant or counter service restaurant at one of the other resorts. Also see if the kids could check out the Community Hall while you look at a villa. Since it's December, I doubt if pool hopping would be a viable option.

It sounds like fun. Have a great trip.
