Touring Plans vs. EasyWDW

Hi all...

I have discovered these websites that provide touring plans and/or cheat sheets as to how to attack the parks based on your desired strategy of what you want to see and do. Anyone have any positive or negative feedback on them ? They both have good info thus far from what I see, but I haven't been to WDW in years (well before the new Fantasyland was put in). I did see on one site where they cited the other was claiming Level 3 crowds for the day despite triple digit wait times at Soarin' and Test Track. Any info would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance !

I use them both, but for crowd predictions I prefer EasyWDW. Josh's predictions align with our touring style (avoiding EMH parks).

I'm a loyal EasyWDW fan and probably always will be. I've tried TP and EWDW and the latter has never steered me wrong, which I can't say for TP. I also like Josh's touring plans - they're flexible enough to move things around and still be efficient.

I've never used Touring Plans, but I love EasyWDW. Josh is always on point and a lot of the time his blogs make me laugh. I enjoy his sense of humor.

We use Easywdw's crowd calendars and cheat sheets and they always work great for us.

We love easywdw - we use Josh's recommendations every trip and have always found the crowds manageable, even during March Break.

I use Easy to choose which park on what day. If I want a step by step guide through my day I then add on Touring Plans. But I have found I only need the step by step over major holidays.

The info/crowd predictions on easy site are not always spot on. Dead wrong recently and at times in the past. Just be forewarned- don’t ever question the author. Take a look at the front page post on the blog. Lots of fans over there who think a response like that is funny - seems arrogant and rude to me.

Also heard he has talked about closing the site soon.

I often wonder if these TP vs easy threads are not planted here to start up more “easy is awesome” talk.

I used to go to easywdw often but over the last 6 months or so, the owner and members over there have just become more and more rude. If you say anything against them, you can bet that your post, message, etc will show up on a post or tweet by the owner of the site, humiliating and degrading that individual and his followers join in the chant. It kind of reminds me of a Lord of the Flies type thing. Where his information on the site at least used to be good, this flat out rude behavior has turned me into a touringplans fan.

I used touring plans in 2012 with easy wdw as backup. We did dxddp and even with 2-hour lunches had time to spare. We also used the app. I plan on the same for our October trip, even though quite a bit has changed in 3 years!

I can assure you, my post wasnt a plant to "stir the pot." Just a dad trying to plan out a trip for the family. I was just curious as to which one people seem to prefer. I know everyone's opinion will vary. For example, one Saturday we are going to be there...TP says Animal Kingdom is the least recommended because of crowd levels and EWDW says Animal Kingdom is their most recommended for that very same day.

Oh, yeah - these boards aren't anything like that at all! :rotfl2:

Does easywdw have apps? Touringplans does. They're rudimentary but seem functional.

Also seems worth mentioning that touring plans is run by the folks who write the Unofficial Guides, which I've found to be very good reads.

Not affiliated.

Edit: oh wow, that blog post on the front of easywdw IS snotty. It's possible to be right, and even to deal with repetitive questions, without being a snot.

I faced the same situation. Personally, I go with TP because it's more of a "just the facts" approach. If you know the crowd levels, it's easy to pick parks according to your preferences. Plus you can check them on accuracy: http://blog.touringplans.com/2015/01/27/disney-world-crowd-calendar-report-january-18-24-2015/

EasyWDW has some unnecessarily rigid rules, like never go on EMH. And I still haven't figured out how to check their accuracy.
