Touring Plans Room Request Success?

Not even close. Room assigned was the total opposite of what I requested, may have been because we arrived on the earlier side. Instead of going to the room I went to the front desk and spoke with the CM there. I told her we did not mind waiting for a room to be available that more closely met our requests, since we were there for 10 nights. She found another room, we waited maybe 3 hours and it was a great location. This happened on a prior trip, too, so twice at different resorts. But it all worked out!

I use the TP room request service and always get the room I request or something better. I always opt for a late check in, which may help.

You can also submit your room request for free directly thru Disney. I doubt the mechanism you use makes any difference in what success you will have.
Aside from a request to Disney can take hours of waiting on hold to complete a phone call, no, no difference at all.

After you select that room, Go back and find the button that says configure room request and then you can type stuff in to explain. I would list requests in order of importance to you. For example:
1. Near lobby
2. Ground floor
3. Lake view

hope that helps!
That helps a lot. However, they sent my request this morning so we will see!

I have no clue what you all talking about! I have a touring plans subscription, and have booked 1 hotel so far. Not even sure what I would request. Where on their site does it give you ideas or show you a map of properties?

Create a trip on touring plans with all your info for your reservation and then there should be a request room button on your trip. If not, Google “touring plans room finder Caribbean beach” or whichever hotel you are staying at. Then, you can filter results for your room type. Once you find a room you like on the map, you can hit request this room. (I think you still have to have made a trip in touring plans first though).

Considering using TP for upcoming trip. We have two BLT rooms, one 2bedroom and one 1 bedroom. Both lake view. We really want to NOT be facing the pool so I was considering trying TP for a request. But can I request on TP for two different reservations. Obviously we want to be close to each other.

I've had excellent results when arriving on "off" days - like a Tuesday or Wednesday. Five times the exact room I requested. Three times one or two doors away. Twice not even close.

Yes, you can. On touringplans, you will create 2 different trips with your 2 different reservation numbers. In your case, you might want to request 1. close together with the other reservation number 2. lake view

Does Touring plans room request work for rented DVC points ?
I sure hope so... because that's what we're doing. 😊 It asked for my name and reservation number, so I'm assuming they'll know from that we're using DVC points. I don't think there's anything to indicate we're renting them, though.

Thank you so much!!

We got the exact room that we requested in September at AKL Kidani

I've had varying success. I was at Pop last week and did a request through TP for room 6113. I clarified that with saying any room on any floor of that wing (building 6, wing closest to building 5) would be great. I got room 6316, which is 3rd floor of same wing, so I consider that a success.

I have always traveled with at least one extra room, and I usually only make one trip in TP. In the configuration text box, I list the last names and reservation numbers for each room, make my request, then add a priority list and an "I understand if this isn't possible" statement.

Last October, we had four Pop rooms, and three of them were directly next door! I've been next door to my adult kids' room at BWV twice (also got our ground floor request on one of them), had three next-door ground floors at BLT (patio hopping is SO great), and one other Pop trip where my sister's family's room was connected to ours...and I only asked to be "close" to her room! I love the Touring Plans service!

The true test is coming up in May. Three day stay, one room, first trip to CBR, my sis and I are bringing my 75-year-old dad who wants an easy walk to the smoking area behind the Jamaica pool for his evening cigar. I asked for 4316, or one very close to that, so that we can keep an eye on him when he goes out there. Crossing fingers, but not too much...I have all the faith!
