Anyone used Touring Plans to request a room? Is there a way to request a general area (e.g. floor 9)? Or we have to request a specific room? From the website, it looks like we need to pick a room and request it.
Any help is appreciated.

Yes and if you click on an individual room and then look at the top left of the picture you will see something like this:

To request this room, provide Disney with the following text:
BoardWalk Inn,Flr 1,SE-facing room.Exmple:1207,1206,1205,1204,1203,1202,1201

That's what Touring Plans will send to Disney or you can add to your Reservation.

Note: Always a request and no guarantee expressed or implied.

After you make the request, you can go to your dashboard and edit it. I will say that we have stayed on property a LOT of times, and only a very few times have gotten what we requested. And I make what I think are pretty easy to fulfill requests (ex: highest floor possible at Riviera; got 3rd floor). Others seem to have better luck.

Thank you. It's not intuitive but selected a room, then did configure room request to add the details. Yeah, I realize it's just a request and may not be fulfilled. Honestly, I think any/most rooms look great but may as well try the request.

I leave the pre-populated text as-is and then put what I am looking for - no more than 3 things - in the "more information" box.

Such as 1st priority - resort section/building; 2nd priority - top floor; 3rd priority - corner room. That helps the assigner have a better idea of why I picked that area.

Thank you. This is what I ended up doing as well. In details I put "floor 9 or higher, possibly with a pool view". i.e. so the pool view is second priority

It's funny how their system works. I don't have an exact room to request, and even if I did, the chances of that specific one being available is low. But I do like their site with being able to see pictures of the view form each. Pretty cool.

As I understand it, the pre-populated field is in "assigner-speak" - and it puts whatever your "selected" room is as the first example of room numbers. I guess since they worked with the assigners to create their request format (evidenced by them having special emails that they now send them to), it was probably set up that the first room number given was the one the person selected.
