I'm working on planning out my days for my upcoming trip (December 3-10), which I am over the moon excited about because my bestie of 33 years will be accompanying us with her family! Her kids are around the same ages of ours.

It's their first (and probably only) time to Disney and I want to make sure that they make the most of it. Touring plans has prediction dates for MVMCP, but I don't think the dates have been released yet. How accurate are the predictions and any idea when the dates will be announced?

Thank you!

Touring Plans is as good as it gets but these are only guesses. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party was replaced with Disney Very Merriest After Hours last year. This is somewhat of a successor to MVMCP, as it featured the same parade, fireworks, and more. However, it was also different in a number of ways. At this point, whether the 2022 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party occurs is also still up in the air. from Disney Tourist Blog

In my experience touring plans has always been spot on for us. Weve navigated 2 easters/spring breaks and a fall break with them, and always have seen and done everything we wanted to thanks to their plans. Even the easter weeks never felt busy to us. Edited to add those are our dates for this year too! its a good week for it

They've been pretty open about updating more frequently these days because nothing in the past is predictive.

Anecdotally, I think half my town will be there in the last week of April, and that's pretty unusual.

I'd guess they are predicting dates for the party based on last year's schedule. IIRC, some of those Halloween / Xmas parties were assigned to specific days of the week, but don't quote me at ALL. You might want to head over to the TP site and ask around on their forum and/or send them an email with your query.

I found touring plans to be disappointing. I suppose they are right some of the time, but I don’t think you can really predict when they will be right versus being very wrong. Kind of like if I predict a coin flip for you. I’ll be right 50% of the time so some people might think I’m a genius, but it’s just luck.
Bottom line is external, unpredictable factors will influence crowds. For example, the day after a rainy day will be more busy.
i also found the tours to be frustrating. The expected wait times were way off l, and with g+ it’s hard to manage. I stopped trying to use it after the first day or two.

For my last trip in Feb they were pretty accurate on 6 of the 8 days. The other two were a big miss. Their expected vs posted wait times app was pretty accurate for most of the week.

I predict MVMCP will return this year. If we look back on past years the trend is that the Christmas party is announced one month after MNSSHP is announced. So, my prediction is that we will hear something in June if not the end of May.

I will not be renewing my sub to them. Their numbers are all jacked up since all of the changes post-Covid. The last valuable thing on the site was the room finder/requester. I can confirm from multiple trips from the parks reopening to just this past week (got home yesterday) that the resorts are either not getting them or are ignoring them. 8 trips to varying resorts since October 2020 and our room request was not on record a single time.

The LINES app, room request, photos from every room at every resort, and the dining ressie finder all make it worth it IMO.

I don’t use it as strictly as I used to for choosing which park each day, based on their crowd calendar, but I still use it as a guide.
