touring plans please explain/help

I am new to dis and new to planning vacations in general. i have been "lurking" for awhile and decided to buy touringplans.com.

I am very confused by some of the crowd calendar predictions.

For example, they have Epcot as a 2.5 on sat. 11/7 even though it is Food and Wine Festival. I have relatives that live in Orlando and told me to avoid weekends at epcot during Food and wine festival because it is very busy with locals too.

It it really possible that Wednesday 11/3 at Epcot is rated as 8.9, Tuesday 11/2 Epcot is a 7.8, but Sat. 11/7 is only a 2.5? I would think the weekend would be much more busier than a week day.

So would I do better following touring plans and do Epcot on a Saturday instead of Tuesday or Wednesday when the crowd predictor says 7.8 and 8.9?

I think you need to also or first look at their recommended parks (by color on the Lines app, by avoid/recommend on the website) for the day. They have two different types of ratings now - recommended parks by day, and in-park crowd estimators.

Epcot on a weekend during F&W will be very busy, but it's mainly concentrated in World Showcase in the afternoon/evening.

Also, you have to remember that the crowd calenders are based on wait times for attractions, not for crowd sizes. It is possible that the crowds are larger on the weekends, but many of the people may be doing F&W and not many attractions.
