Touring Plans Crowd Calendar changed...

When I planned our vacation, touringplans.com had the majority of the parks at a 4 for the week. Yes, I am one of those people that follows the crowd calendar as closely as possible. Just went back on to check for another vacation, and I see a few of the days during our visit have been bumped up to a 6. My concern is a day that we had planned to go to Hollywood Studios is now a six and a park to avoid - I assume because it is one of those pesky FANTASMIC! nights ;)

We have never done a spring Disney vacation before. For those of you who have been to the parks on a day touring plans says is a 6, do you find that it's gridlock? Or am I making too much out of this?

Thanks for any and all help! :goodvibes

We've gone on Spring Break the past 2 years (last year being Easter at the same time) and I believe crowd levels were at a 9 or 10  But really with just a little planning it wasn't bad at all! 3 years ago we went 4th of July week, yes I'm pretty sure we're crazy :rotfl: So honestly I'm not sure I even know what it's like to be there when crowd levels are "that low" :rotfl2: So good luck to you and your family on your trip, I'm sure it will be just fine :thumbsup2

Thank you!!! We're seasonal passholders, so we're blacklisted from visiting on those 9 and 10 days :lmao: The 6's had me a little freaked out...But you're right, and now I'm onto making sure we have a solid plan. THANKS!

:lmao: Sounds like us. Having only done Spring Break over Easter we went in October last year. First day at Epcot it felt like we had missed an evacuation alarm for the first hour there

No matter what the crowd levels are, if you can make rope drop you will get more done in the first hour or so than you will in a whole morning even when crowds are low.

The levels will change, often several times in the run up to anyone's trip as Disney tweaks hours, shows and events. Go and enjoy. And be there early ;)

I too am a huge touringplans.com fan. Are you planning on using their actual touring plans? The plans made a huge difference for us last July. The WDW crowd levels were 9s and 10s the week we were there, but we were able to walk right on most rides, and rode or saw everything on the touring plans. We had only three 35 minute waits the whole week - Test Track, Toy Story Mid-way Mania and Tower of Terror. I think we had the higher wait times at DHS because it was a Famtasmic day and we got to the park only 15 minutes before opening vs the recommended 30 minutes early. It was our last park day and my daughter rebelled...would not get ready to save her soul.

I am now a firm believer in the rope drop first hour. I think TP underestimated the crowd today -- By mid-day, it felt like a 7 or higher. (I think they predicted a 4).
But we got there at 7:25 for 8:00 am rope drop. Secured a spot right at the tunnel.
Hurried to Dumbo at rope drop --- Got into the second load.
In the first 90-120 minutes at the park, we did Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh, Tea Cups, Peter Pan, Mickey's Philharmagic, and It's a Small World -- The only wait, was for 10 minutes waiting for the next Philharmagic Show. Even rides were 10 minute posted wait times, were really walk-on. By mid-day, even minor rides like It's a Small World had a 20 minute wait.

If only Splash Mountain wasn't off-line at the time we tried to use our fast passes in the afternoon, the day would have been flawless.
