Touring Plans App - Reliable?

I purchased the year subscription to touring plans. Did an MK plan last week, showed pirates at 7 minute wait, reevaluated today to add a ADR and it's now showing pirates at 40 minutes. Does touring plans have data so reliable that it can change over just a couple days?

Now I am wondering how often to reevaluate this after we get our FP+ booked. Anyone have good or bad experience with this app?

One of the odd things about the touringplans data is that it can predict a short wait at one time and a noticeably longer wait if your arrival time is 15 minutes before or after. It's also the case, as you note, that the plan data itself changes as schedules are updated and more input comes in from other outside sources.

The app is a guideline, and over the course of a day, it figures to average out, but don't expect each individual wait time to be precise.

Since you have a premium subscription, I would go to the predictions for Pirates for that particular day and see if there are the sort of fluctuations I mentioned above. that could be the source of what you're seeing.

Agreed -- it helps a lot to look at the prediction map for the whole day -- that will tell you which rides are "bouncy", i.e. go up and down in their wait a lot and which ones are pretty steady. I usually pair up a bouncy ride before a steady ride and keep an eye on the wait. That way if the time is high when it's next thing in the plan, I do the steady one first and a fair amount of the time the bouncy ride wait will have come down by at least ten minutes by the time we've done the other ride.

We did the same thing before we knew about touring plans actually, we just called it "opportunistic touring" then. :-)
