I'm looking for some help! I've been to WDW several times (old FP), so I thought I always had the planning down!

This will be the first time using the DAS. It will be DS7 and DS4 and me. DS7 is nonverbal with some sensory issues and other traits that mimic autism. I'm happy to say though that this past summer, we went to 2 amusement parks and only used the DAS-like cards only once or twice. He's getting much better about waiting in line...although after a week in the Florida sun, we'll see! I want to minimize back-tracking as much as possible. We are going in May.

I was thinking of doing one side of Animal Kingdom, for example, in the morning, and the other side in the afternoon. Get FP for the most popular rides, then DAS for any that we need as we go along?

Just wondering how others have planned it out. DS7 doesn't like water rides, so they are out as well as any DS4 is too short for, so some of the more popular rides we will be skipping. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I'd hate to be there and unprepared, although I'm ready to be flexible to do whatever the boys want to do.

DS and I went back in September. It was our first trip with FP+ as well as with the new DAS. We had gotten to where we didn't really need the old GAC anymore. It worked to get FP- and then ride other smaller rides while waiting. Four example, in Tommorowland, and we would go get a fast pass for space Mountain and then go ride Buzz standby. The only time I really needed the GAC was if I couldn't get a fast pass for some reason. For example on TSMM when the fast passes were gone or the return time was well past time we would be at the .

So after reading about the new DAS I figured we'd be in good shape. However what I didn't count on was the fact that all those smaller rides that we used to ride while waiting for fast pass return times now have much longer lines than they used to. I believe that is thanks to the new FP+. That was continually leading us to be in the area with nothing to do for an hour or more. That did not work for DS. I did use FP+ but I just couldn't get the timing down so that we could constantly be doing something. Back to the tomorrow land example (DS's favorite). My FP+ time was an hour away. I was unable to reschedule it because they were out. I went to Buzz to get a DAS return time and that was also an hour out. So now he had to wait an hour before we were able to do anything. In the past we would have been able to ride Buzz standby while waiting on the space Mountain fast pass return time.

I am going to have to give it some serious thought to figure out how to make it work if we go back this year.

We used the DAS this trip. I had made most of our FP+ for mornings as my family are morning people (except me). However, we all had colds, we drove down, and did MVMCP first... so were all exhausted and did not want to rush to parks first thing. We ended up rescheduling a lot of our passes for late mornings to afternoons.

We tried to kept fastpasses in the same general areas, or near our ADRs.

I found that we tended to use the DAS card at MK for the most part. The issue for us was that we couldn't wait in the FP kiosk lines (which were huge), so we couldn't get extra FP+, even though they were available.... and couldn't schedule on the ap. That said, we were in the parks eight days in a twelve day period and used DAS 5 times. I gather that is a lot, as several CMS noted how much we used the card.
