I've read a few guide books w/ some sample touring plans in them - and they have plans for small kids and then plans for older kids. I have a 3 year old who will be probably be scared at a lot of the rides, even though she is 40 inches tall. My 10 and 7 yr olds will like all of the rides, big ones and the smaller kid rides (hey, so do I:thumbsup2). We really don't want to be seperated a lot, this is a family vacation and I don't want dh to be taking the 2 older kids around while I always hang w/ the young one. How do you handle your touring with different ages? We will have 3 full days and one half day at the parks.

We use the rider switch. That way we all stay together and my DD12 gets to ride the big rides. I do too :)
while I am not sure how you would approach it with a 40" 3 year old.
I know it is available on all rides with a height restriction. I don't know if they accomadate being scared of the rides? Hopefully someone with that experience will chime in.
But we try to stay together, DD12 loves all the rides and shows and my guess is your kids will too.
If you get FPs for the big rides maybe you and DH can switch off who goes with the bigger kids.

We have kids of all ages. At DL most of your kids will probably be happy riding together. If your youngest gets scared to go on SM, Winnie the Pooh is right there. Alice in Wonderland is right next to Matterhorn, and Autopia is by Space Mountain. Tarzans Treehouse is right next to IJ.
At CA I take my smallest 2 on the Carousel while the 3 older ones and hubby ride the California Screamin'. When it is time for TOT sometimes my 4 year old will opt out depending on his mood. If TOT has a line one of us sometimes goes to Monsters Inc. or takes a potty break. Grizzly Rapids is right across from Brother Bear park which your youngest will probably love and it can be very nice to relax there a bit.
We don't rush around and these rides are all very close to each other (except a little walk between TOT and Monsters) but nothing major.
Your youngest may surprise you and want to ride some of them. We never feel seperated because the things we do are so close to each other and everyone is having a good time doing what they want to do.
