What is the best touring plan if we want to ride both Guardians and RSR?

If we grab a FP for Guardians when we enter the park (at opening or close to it), will we still be able to grab FP for RSR? I know the ride time for Guardians will be far out and thus we'll have to wait 2 hrs before being able to pull FP for RSR.

You should be fine, if you get your RSR FP when you are eligible. This weekend, we grabbed FP for Guardians shortly after we entered the park, which was just after the 8 a.m. opening (early entry was at 7 a.m.). We actually first signed DD up for Avenger's Training because we wanted the first show. Our GotG time was 9:40-10:40. We had been on RSR earlier in our trip and felt less pressure to ride again (and DD was recovering from GotG), so we didn't even check until around 10:45 a.m. At that point, the RSR FP were mid-afternoon. We waited until around 11:15 a.m. because we wanted to take an afternoon break and then picked up RSR FP so that we could ride at around 5 p.m. When we were at DCA earlier in the week, the RSR FP might have gone a little faster, but they were definitely still available when you would be eligible for more FP.

These days, RSR FPs are back to running out sooner than GotG's, so you might want to reverse your plan. Either way, they'll both still be available by the time you're eligible to get another.

Ah ok. I thought Guardians was running out first, but maybe that was just initially when it opened up.

We really took our time entering the park and signing up for Avenger Training, and the GotG fastpasses were for only a little more than an hour away. They did both run out in the afternoon, but I think it's correct that RSR runs out first. It appeals to a wider group of guests. There were also a lot of teens/twentysomethings who got into the GotG standby line instead of trying for fastpasses. The standby line was 130 minutes , and there were still fastpasses available.

Yes. Right now, at 9:52 am, the GotG FP return time is 11:45 (55 minute standby) and the return time for RSR is 1:15 (50 minute standby).

Thank you. Since you mentioned, I watched the FP times today (I worked from home today so easy to do).

You're right. Radiator Spring's FastPass return time was always later then Guardians and ran out just after 1:30pm. Guardians still seems to have FastPasses and it's 3:40pm there.

From today's numbers, neither's FastPass is less than 2hrs so I suppose as long as we grab one in the morning we'll be ok for both.

KatieCharlotte, my son wants to do the Avenger Training too. How was it? I think we'll grab the FP first and then sign up....Just gotta look at the logistics of where everything is at the park. Hopefully we're not running back and forth all over the place (not planning on using MaxPass).

I haven't been to the parks in the past year, but my strategy was always to head straight to TSMM, ride it twice, then ride Screamin, then go get a FP for RSR. I never wasted time getting the FP first because the line really drops down to nothing after the first 30 minutes of park opening. However, now that Maxpass is up and running, I don't even have to worry about it! I'm going in October, and my plan is to get a FP for RSR when I walk in the park as I head to TSMM to do what I usually do. Then I will pick up a Guardians FP as soon as the window opens. I've also noticed that RSR is running out faster than Guardians, so it makes sense to get it first. You will not have to wait 2 hours to get your Guardians FP. You can get a Soarin FP after that without any problem as well. Personally, I wouldn't ride any of them standby. I have ridden RSR single rider, but I don't like to wait in line longer than 20 minutes, so it's pretty rare for me. FYI, I did some tracking on the app last weekend and if you use Maxpass, you can get the RSR FP for 8:40 when you walk in at 8 am. On the day I checked, you could get a GOTG FP at 8:40 for 9:50 am. Admittedly, those times are inaccurate if you're using the kiosks.

if you get to DCA around when it opens for the day, you should be able to get a FP for GotG thats only ~30-60 minutes out, so you should be easily able to get an FP for RSR right after that.

Thanks. I have been watching since my post and they RSR seems to last until 1:30pm or so and Guardians a bit later.

One other ride that I've noticed that has been running out of FPs early (and even before RSR) is Soarin. Found that odd but think I read that they have shut down one side...or something like that.

I stalk the app as well. If you can time it, do Guardians first and then try to get a FP for RSR for a night time ride. I am shooting for a night ride next time we go.

yeah, last week Soarin often had the longest wait time of any attraction in both parks! We rode it once with a FP and it still took like 20 minutes to get through the line.

Ugh...so maybe we should grab Soarin first...Or grab RSR but head to Soarin as first ride
