Hi there... we booked all of our fast passes last night and now I'm revising my touring plans to include the fast pass reservation times. We have two days where we are going to the waterpark during the day and then HS at night. When I enter our evening Toy Story Fast Pass time, it says:

This plan does not use the Fastpass+ reservation for Toy Story Mania!. Using that Fastpass+ reservation may result in longer waits in line or more walking than the plan shown. One option is to exchange this Fastpass+ reservation for another attraction or for another time of day, including re-riding favorite rides later in the day

Does that mean that we should not even attempt to get a fast pass for the evening? Are the waits so long that we can't even use it? I'm a little confused, thanks!!!

You can always get in the SB line for TSMM about 5 minutes before park close. No matter what the wait time says, you will wait no more than 30 minutes - usually less than 20 minutes.

That's great advice but I don't think we'll last until closing. I was trying to use a fast pass upon our evening arrival at 5pm. is this feasible?

I had a FP+ for 5:55 last Thursday on a day split between AK and DHS. Worked beautifully for me.

Get the FP. I love TP, they have made my WDW trips wonderful, but I am strongly of the view they are glitchy at the moment. Did you put the start and end times on the plan you actually plan to stick to? That makes a real difference.

OP is referring to the fact that the TouringPlans website will override your FP+ times if it thinks you will be better off experiencing that attraction at a different time. From what I could tell when playing around with it yesterday, there's no box you can click to tell it to use all of your FP times and plan the other attractions around those.

OP, I was able to manually rearrange things to get it to mostly work with my FPs. Do you have the settings reflecting when you plan to arrive at the park (i.e. you are arriving in the evening, so put your park hours as something like 4pm - close)? Once you do that, you can manually drag TSMM down to approximately where it should be given your FP return time. I don't think the fact that it is not using your FP times necessarily means the FP line will be so long that you won't be able to experience the attraction.

I wish it was easier to do. I still haven't gotten it to use all of my AK FP times no matter how many things I move around. :confused3

I've gotten that message when I've manually moved stuff around and it's at a bad spot in the lineup. Try moving it around manually, within your hour time block.

If this is for your 6/27 DHS visit, I adjusted your arrival time to 4:15 PM and re-optimized. The plan now uses the TSMM FP+. Yay!

I adjusted the arrival time from 5 pm to 4:15 because the last show of L!M!A! is at 4:30, so arriving at 5 isn't an option.

Also, the Mama Melrose's reservation at 6 pm overlaps the 6 pm Star Tours FP+. If the meal can be finished in 60 minutes, the plan knows that you can make it to Star Tours within the 15-minute grace period for FP+. If you think that's cutting it a bit close, though, then one of the reservations should be moved.

I think the Optimizer wasn't using the FP+ for TSMM because of those things - there wasn't a plan that did everything with the original parameters, so the Optimized was trying to find something close. We should be giving you better messaging in these situations. I'll work on that. Thanks for using the site!

WOWWWWW ask and you shall receive, I had no idea someone from TP would look at my plan and critique it but thanks :) I removed the lights show and also revised the Star Tours FP due to the dinner overlap. Based on the responses to my OP, I think I now know how to tweak the system to get it to work according to our intentions, in correlation to recommendations from TP. Thanks all!!!

I think the UT custom plans for DHS are just glitchy. That happens every time I make a plan for DHS, just ignore it.

Simple. If you want to ride the ride and want to use a FP+ for it, by all means DO IT! :goodvibes

I'm an uber-planner myself, but there is no amount of touring planning expertise in the world that will over-ride the most important aspect of my vacation, the one of me doing what I want to when I generally want to. TSMM will almost always be a good bet to benefit most from a fastpass. If you can score it, by all means use it. Especially beneficial now since you'll be jumping into the park mid-afternoon after a morning at the waterpark. This is one area where FP+ absolutely benefits you most! You couldn't even fanthom getting a fastpass for TSMM with a mid-afternoon park entry last year. And now you can have that cake and eat it to. Don't let any optimized touring site tell you differently. It's kind of like a GPS. Let it recalculate around what you want and just let it make your experience better.

Yep. Best answer you can get. Len does a great job responding to everything that comes to his attention. :thumbsup2

It may be obvious but make sure you put the FP+ time in as 17:00 for 5:00 and not 5:00 a.m. I've made that mistake before and that's the error I get.
