Hi Everyone,

I'm wondering how one would go about getting a tour of the DVC properties?

My family and I are considering purchasing but haven't seen every resort.

We will be there in December for 11 days and would like to try and set something up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :goodvibes

Go to any of the hundred dvc kiosks around the parks and resorts. They will be more then happy to arrange it. A dvc rep will pick you up and drop you off anywhere on property.

Kiosks are near race cars in MK, near toy store @ DTD. there are more but not sure exactly where.

We are staying at POFQ...if I remember correctly, there was one in their lobby last year.

OP, it sounds as though you are looking for a guided tour of the DVC resorts? If so, that is not available. The tour the previous posters are referring to is at Saratoga Springs, and consists of a sales pitch with some ice cream at the end. You can also view model rooms of whichever resorts they are currently actively selling. If you want to see the actual resorts, you would need to do that on your own.

Does anyone know if the model rooms are at each individual resort or are they all set up at SSR? Well I don't know that the model room for Aulani would be at SSR, but how about the other ones?

Thanks.

No more BLT model rooms. The model room at BLT was turned over to member inventory and the one at the Preview Center was closed.

I was told earlier this month that the Guides are still doing a rotation at the BLT model. Guess my source was wrong.

SSR, Aulani and VGF will be at SSR preview center, BWV is at BWV and Kidani is at Kidani. Your Guide will have more info.

Ok..yes..that is what I was thinking! Thank you for telling me this. Well...we have two and a half free days durning our next trip so we can go and look around a bit.
Will they let us look at the DVC units ?

I should have made it a little more clear. :goodvibes

I'm reading and learning everything here too...so I can make the best educated decision. :)

if you want to look at actual rooms, it depends on

1) do they have an empty room available and
2) does a CM in the lobby have time to leave their post in order to show you an empty room.

honestly, go and get lunch/dinner/a snack at the resort and wander the public areas and then just look online at pics of the rooms. if you also check out the public BWV model on the boardwalk, i think you'll have a great idea of what to expect. but if you have time, you can give it a shot...(it's just not something the DVC salespeople do on an official basis - they are trying to sell you the new resorts. for older resorts, it depends on the lobby staff generously taking time from their assigned duties to help you out - which, if they have time, they are often happy to do.)

For the most part, if you've seen the Boardwalk model...you've seen the Beach Club model, and have seen the layout for Wilderness lodge too.

I agree with looking online to get an idea about the rooms.

Definetely walk around the resorts you may be interested in, eat lunch, take a swim if allowed, hang out in the lobby, and get a feel for the property. There are lots of photos of rooms online too as well as sq ft info. After visiting AKV, we went back to the DVC center and made our first purchase.

I don't think you have to see every resort and every unit type to get a good feel for the DVC resorts. One should start with a basis of disney trip knowledge including staying on property. If one doesn't have that historical knowledge, I probably wouldn't buy initially, just get information and maybe rent at DVC for at least 1 stay. One can walk the resorts and ask to see rooms if available in addition to seeing the model rooms that are available. Try to plan options & events that will get you to various locations. Maybe a dinner at Olivia's, shopping at DTD and walk over the SSR, etc.

Like Dean suggested, for your coming up trip, stay at DVC property you may like, so you can get better feel. You can rent points from other DVC member, to keep your cost lower then direct booking.
