Touring DCA on EMH day without having EMH?

Since DCA has EMH on every day we will be there (Mid Aug), except our one MM morning at DL, is it really a big deal to be an hour behind the EMH crowds? Does this affect your decision on ride order?

You know, I really don't think it makes that much of a difference at DCA since it's only the onsite hotel guests who have access to EMH there. The FP machines don't open until regular park opening, so you won't really be disadvantaged there. I would start watching the Disneyland app for wait times leading up to your trip so you have an idea of what to expect.

I have only done rope drop once on an EMH at DCA. That was in mid-March, so bordering on spring break season, and we thought it was still very quiet the first few hours.

Your other option would be to not use your DL MM and do opposite parks -- or do your MM at DL then head to DCA when it opens after MM is done so you're even with everyone else and then do DL on non-MM days.

In August, there will already be waits on popular rides like RSR and TSMM after EMH. RSR can be handled pretty easily with a FP, but not TSMM. I'd definitely do TSMM first if you can, but I like Angrose's suggestion to check wait times with the app before you go.

We are in the same boat and plan on going to DL on the mornings the DCA has EE then maybe heading to DCA in the afternoon. On the DL EE morning we will go there for the first hour then head to DCA for opening. We spend more time at DL anyway!

I agree with Angrose! Since EE in DCA is only for onsite hotel guests it is nothing like crowds for the MM at DL. we've gone in DCA on an EE day at regular park opening and gotten a FP for Racers, rode Racers and Toy Story with not much wait and then rode Soarin with no FP.

We've done DCA when it's been EMH for hotel guests and have never had a problem. Only if you want to ride RSR right out of the gate will you have a wait. We were able to do TSMM twice, CS twice, and Soarin (when it was still California) within the first hour even though we didn't have EMH access.
