Just landed an 8:40 a.m. res at BOG for Thursday (MK opens at 9). I'm trying to figure out if there is any way we can be done by 9 and get to our touring plan. Can we show up a little early and get seated? How long does breakfast usually take? If we can somehow get out by 9 are we best off hitting 7DMT right away or just sticking to our regular plan. (We have a 7DMT fastpass for midday.)

Hadn't planned at all on doing this until the res just opened up, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Unless thinge have recently changed, you can enter Magic Kingdom at around 7:45 AM and go ahead and eat at BOG starting at 8:00 AM(even with your 8:40 AM ADR).

Also,if you finish eating in time,BOG Guests are "usually" allowed to ride SDMT just ahead of the Maingate line.:)

As the previous poster said, you can get in at 7:45 with everyone else and you should be done by about 8:30-8:40 and can wander over toward 7DMT to get ahead of the rope drop crowd. If you're lucky you may get in a ride or two before park opening, too! That frees you up to hit the other Fantasyland attraction that gets crazy shortly after rope drop, Peter Pan, right at opening.

Please let us know how it goes! I also have an 840am ressie for our November trip and even though I keep looking for an earlier time, it sounds like it may not be necessary as we can still eat with the earliest of the PPO crowd.

Just to follow up, we arrived to the park just before 8 last Wednesday and were in line for BoG around 8:05. There was a line outside to check in and a short line inside before ordering, but we were done with breakfast by 8:40. That's almost exactly the time that they released the people from the small queue outside 7DMT to proceed to the ride and we joined in the back of the group. We rode twice with no wait before the RD crowd arrived and then moved on to a virtual walk-on for Peter Pan around 8:50. I should note the crowd was probably smaller that day due to the impending weather, but the strategy worked great. I'm curious if it works the same for even later reservations so long as they are still before park opening (e.g. a 8:55 reservation on a day the park opens at 9).

Thank you so much for following up. Sounds like it worked out great for you! And maybe now I can stop stalking MDE for an earlier than 8:40 time!

We just did something similar a few weeks ago, our reservation at BOG was for 8:30, but we showed up a bit after 8 and sat right down. We were out and in line for 7DMT by 8:45 which is right around when they started letting the non early morning magic people on, so we essentially walked right on.

Wait, I have an 8am BOG on 12/11. Park opens at 9am. I can preorder my meal. Assuming I arrive at the park at 7:45 and get seated at 8, I'll get to hit rides pre-opening?

This is good to know as well since we will be going on an EMM morning.

They "usually" let BOG Guests ride SDMT before the Maingate line, but all other rides do not open until the Maingate line arrives.

They'll 'usually' let you on 7DMT around 8:45ish. The regular rope drop crowd usually starts arriving around 8:45-8:50ish and then all bets are off. :-) You 'potentially' have a very tight window to catch a ride or two if everything goes well. But a minute or two off, or if they hold the line, your mileage may vary.

This has been so helpful. Thanks for letting us know how it went. I have an 825 PPO in November and have been wondering these same things.

Do they separate dining groups into earlier reservations and later reservations once you get to the castle?

We were there the last week of September with 8:10 reservations. When we checked in, there were two lines forming in front of the castle. One shorter line to the left, and one longer line to the right. The CM told us to go into the line on the left. Quite a few people who had checked in before us were standing in the right lane. The CMs let us in first as soon as the castle opened and held the lane to the right (I don't know how long they held them). We were the first people in and it was so cool to be in the ballroom all by ourselves (only lasted a few seconds of course).

It made me wonder whether they had started dividing groups into earlier and later reservations (such as 8:30 and prior to the left, and 8:30 and later to the right). We were not divided by pre-orders there because there were some in our line who had not pre-ordered, which is why we were the first into the ballroom.

I believe the line is split into people who pre-ordered and people who didnt. Although my preorder line seemed to be longer and move slower when I was there **Edited - I see you mentioned it wasnt that....but thats how it was explained to me. Maybe they had a lot of people who hadn't pre-ordered and were trying to balance the lines?

I don't believe so, when we went the cast member was telling people to use either line, it didn't seem to matter. We also didn't show up until probably 8:10 since we took a bunch of pictures of the near empty park on the way, so by the time we got there the lines were super short. We only ended up having one family in front of us, so by that point they may have stopped separating people by time or pre-order.

We did ask the cast member if we were allowed to get in line so early since our reservation wasn't until 8:30, and she looked at us like we were crazy for even asking and told us of course it was ok!
