Have a trip planned for Jan-but in-laws would like to do a family trip possibly sometime next year. Does anyone know if they offer any tours? Not sure if this could be an option for us or just getting 2 resort rooms. Thanks.

The only DVC tour is at the sales center at SSR, but you can certainly go to the front desk at WL and ask to see a villa at VWL. If they have an unoccupied and clean villa available they are usually happy to allow guests to take a look.

Enjoy! :)

Thanks! First, I didn't realize this question needed to be in the DVC thread! They kindly moved it! I guess that would mean you would need to be a DVC owner to stay there? We will be staying at WL in Jan & thought if we liked it there we could possibly try out the villas. I guess I need to keep this post away from my husband-he's so into the DVC thing!!!! We aren't owners & he's trying to convince me!

You don't have to be a dvc member to stay in the villas. You can "rent" from a member or you can reserve a room direct from Disney.

We've read about renting points from an owner-just to see if it would be something we'd consider...I just wasn't sure if it was possible to stay there & not be an owner/renter of points. I'll have to ask when we get there about it. It's solmething that doesn't look like it would hurt to ask-especially if we could stay there w/o dealing with anyones points. Thanks!!!

Be careful, if you hang around here, we will try to convince you as well! Having stayed at both the villas and the rooms at WL, I found the hotel rooms to be more updated, including flat panel tvs. So don't be surprised if the villa rooms look a little dated in comparison. The value comes more from the room size and ammenaties as well as long term value.

Enjoy your trip.

Thanks for the info! I will definitely keep that in mind when we get there-I am excited to stay there-just hoping not to be dissappointed (usually stay at the Poly) I suppose it won't hurt to ask about seeing the villas...may be high pressure to purchase though:scared:

The Wilderness Lodge rooms are beautiful, never stayed at the Poly but I can tell you that you will be impressed with the resort.

One thing about DVC is there is never any pressure. We toured and bought while staying at the Wilderness Lodge. We took a van over to the DVC Sales center and we already interested at that point. When we told our Guide we want to buy now, his first comment was,"Don't feel you have to, I'd rather you take your time, go home and discuss it while you are away from Disney." You will certainly never hear that at another timeshare sale presentation. That being said they will offer onsite incentives that you won't get later, but there's never any pressure.
