Has anybody used the "touring plans" in the Unofficial Guide, do they actually work? Dh hates having everything planned out, but I hate wasting time wandering around aimlessly. (lol... sounds like a good combination doesn't it?)

Hi SKFamily,

They'll certainly save you as much time standing in line as possible. If you want to include a mid-day break for kids (or the DH), the plans are structured to take that into account as well.

If you have questions on a specific plan, feel free to drop me a line: len@touringplans.com.

Sincerely,

Len Testa

Worked great for me. I went during a "Low" time, so that helped as well. I have a friend who told me about them and he swears by them as well.

Have FUN!

We have used the touring plans during busy and slow time and they are great. We think they work very well and are well worth the small cost. Debby

There is also RideMax. We used it and thought it worked, although we'd rather just do stuff as we please.

It does have a fee to use it, but you can customise which rides you want to ride and it will only make a schedule with the rides you choose. You can read all about it at their site.

The Unofficial Guide's touring plans have been absolutely wonderful for our family. We usually have to visit WDW at peak times with huge holiday crowds. With the touring plans (modified to fit our needs), we've been able to do all 4 parks in 4 days, seeing everything we came to see, and that includes taking time out for an afternoon swim and lunch at our resort every day. Frankly, I don't know where I'd be without the Unofficial Guide and the DIS boards--probably still waiting in line for Dumbo! lol ;) My DH was skeptical at first, but after seeing how we were able to avoid the crowds by having a "plan", he came around real quick. ::yes::

BTW, if you don't want to invest in the book, see if you can check it out at your local library. Have a great trip! :sunny:

Thanks - I got the book a while ago. Looks like a lot of info I wouldn't have thought of. We'll see if anyone else wants to try the plans. I think it's a good idea...

The plans have always been a lifesaver for us, if for no other reason than they cut down on any discussion/arguments about what to do next. We just "follow the plan." Then everything is the plan's fault if there's a problem!;)

<font color=navy>Some of the DISers here decided to put the book to the challenge, and split up into two groups (I think they did this over a two-day period, but not sure). One group used the Unofficial Guidebook plan, and the other group made up their own plan.

When they compared notes at the end, they discovered that the group who followed the plan saw a lot more than the group who did their own planning
