Is Tour guide Mike's worth it? :confused3 If you have used it, what did you think about it? Also, I am going with my family - Mom, Dad, single sisters 31 & 25, Married sister , Bil, 3 neices 5, 3, & 1, and of couse my DH, DD 5, & DS 4. Will I be able to use TGM for all of us? Any help will be appreciated. Oh, we are going Jan 22 - 29, 2006. It's the first trip for everybody but my Mom. :cheer2:

Thanks!

Dawn

Absolutely YES!

We used the MK tour with/kids plan.....and the longest line we waited
in was for the bag check;)

Seriously, it is well worth the $22.00.

I signed up last week and if you think you get tips here, you do, but there is much more! You have to be willing to really read/plan, it's not the cliffnotes version.

It explains the rationale for how to order your day and how to plan/organize your trip. I can't say I've used it yet since we are going in November.

Maybe those who have used it and have returned from a trip will have a better perspectove on that.

I am using TGM at the moment to plan my Christmas trip. So far I have recieved some great advice that I have not seen anywhere else. Like another poster has said you do have to be prepared to read information and put some time into your planning but once you do this you will end up with a great plan that will suit your family. TGM doesn't just suddenly give you a plan that will suit your family, you need to read articles and his advice and then create your own plans from this. He will tell you the best times to go see the attractions you want to in each park and what park it is best to go to on each days.

I love this site. I used it on my last trip during the very busy spring break, and had a blast. The info really works! The first day, my heart was pounding, waiting outside the turnstiles of MGM, wondering if it would work. By 11 a.m. my whole family were believers!

I am now using the site to plan a last minute trip to Disney this september. Its my favorite Disney site.

I like the site, but, imho, it's not worth the full price. Maybe it's because I've been to WDW so many times, but I have only found one or two pieces of information that I haven't found elsewhere or already knew.

I prefer the unofficial guide, but I think it all comes down to your personal style. TGM is too enthusiastic and saccharine for me. I have seen some posts of TGM fans who bash the UG (and vice-versa), with the opinion that if you follow the tips in the UG, you will be running to and fro, with no time to smell the roses. I think that's hogwash. I've used the UG touring plans several times, and have never broken into a trot. I take time to notice the small details and deviate from the touring plan and the plan still worked.

For my style, I would rather subscribe to touringplans.com and pick the touring plan that most meets my needs than use TGM to get educated and design my own plan. Of course, it goes back to my experience with WDW, because I've been enough and I'm familiar enough with crowd patterns to be able to make some modifications to the touringplan.com's plans.

Oh, one more thing. If you're going to a "special event," like MNSSHP or MVMCP, then I would use TGM, simply because he has touring plans for those nights available.

I just subscribed to TGM and am very happy with the info I have read so far. In my case, I have been to Disney 18 times, but have never had a plan...just went into the parks and started picking rides we wanted to hit. If the line was too long, I went to a different one.

The information he provides is a little bit of common sense mixed with a lot of his personal experiences. He is in the parks almost every day. He makes tour plans for his VIP tours and knows what to see and when. If you already know which days are busiest and why, and you already know which lines get longest quickest and you already have a plan of which rides to hit in what order, then TGM will be less helpful to you. I knew none of that...so his information will be invaluable to me in the future.

I do think he needs to re-design his site....it is the worst layout I can imagine....there have been numerous times where I read an article or a link, then go to find it later and it takes 20 minutes or so to find it.

There are discount codes to get $3 off.

I personally think the info is well worth the $22 or ($19 with discount).
