Hey everyone - we're about two months out from our trip now and I've read all my guidebooks at least 3 times and sepnt hours glued to the net researching my trip...

Now I need to decide shall I subscribe to TGM?

If you've used the service can you give me some advice? Does he just give you daily itineraries or is there additional information?

Also we're going in November which is really quiet - last trip we just followed the steps in the UG but it was so quiet we managed to do our own thing to a certain extent and didn't stand in line for anything longer than 15 minutes... so is it worth TGM or should we keep him for a trip at a busier time of year??

Thanks

RJ

I have not used the service, we just use The Brits Guide to Orlando plus the askdaisy.net (under park updates) for quieter days. Works fine for us.

Plus use all the wealth of info available here, personally I wouldn't bother with it. :)

I have used tour guide mike. He only covers the Disney Parks. The website contains loads of info. Far too much if you ask me, a tour plan, what to eat where and when, when to see the shows. How to avoid standing in line.

The only down side as far as I could tell, is that you do need to get to the parks early for it to work. We arrived at around 10.30, Mike recommends arriving when they open. I still followed his tips and I didn't have too much trouble standing in line. Sometimes no more than 15 mins. Also followed the advice on where to watch the fireworks, and parades etc, which all paid off. What to take with the parks with you. Although I would take only yourself, travel as light as you can.

If you want to join, I would start now, as there is loads of advice, and reems to print off. It doesn't cost that much, as much as a good guide book.

Sometimes the family went off course with his tips and we ended up paying dearly. 30 mins standing in line at kilmanjaro, should have got a FP. The FP on space mountain was 30 mins, Mike said it should be no more than 10. It could have been a Disney problem.

If you look on the American boards, lots of people use Mike, that's where I found the info.

Happy planning, you'll have a great time whatever you decide. So much to see and do, and not enough hours in the day. :earseek:

I will be renewing my membership shortly, (you get a discount), for our next journey, but I'll keep reading these boards, and buy simons next book. Another good website is allearsnet.

Hope this helps.

I also picked up loads of tips off these boards as well.

Hi
Godferry - 15 Years of Magic (Trip Report) used TGM and raved about him. I would read her trip reports - on the US trip report site for some info. We are only there for 3 days in the parks so we won't be subscribing but if I was there for a longer period of time I would.

I subscribed to TGM and love it. However you do need time to read the information. It does not give you a custom touring plan as in what rides to go on at what time in which order. But what it does do is allow you to input the types of rides you like and it recommends at what time of day to ride them with minimal wait, when it is best to get a FP for the rides etc. He also advises which parks to go to and which to avoid on each day (he notes currrent vistors patterns and adjusts hs advice accordingly.) Also as he is in the parks almost daily he updates his park hours pages as soon as the info is avalable.

On top of this there is information on the restaurants, ride reviews, tips for the best and least crowded places to view the fireworks and parades etc. I have been to WDW before and have read all the guide books but I am impressed with TGM. I have learned things from his site that I think are going to be very useful on our next trip and that I have not read elsewhere.

Thanks guys... I'll check out that trip report... but I think I'm off to find my credit card...
just don't tell DH2B shhhh!! He already has to phisically remove me from the pc as it is!!
