Tour Guide Mike?

I tried to search the boards to see if I could find the answer to this, what exactly is tour guide mike? Is it something you do at Disney? is it a planning tool? Is this something I need? LOL
I'm a little confused and my search button didn't bring up anything... I'm sorry if it's been answered 50 bajillion times before it seems like everyone knows but me.

it is a planning site. Like most things in life some pople like it....some don't. I personally use it and i like it. i visit a few different boards. TGM is a pay site.

It is a man really with a planning website. He was a VIP guide for Disney and now runs his own VIP tour company as well as the tour planning website. Google Tour Guide Mike or use one of the links on the top of the Dis here, he is a sponsor.
We have used him (it) to plan our last two trips and I will again, definitely worth the $ in my opinion. He has suggestions for all kinds of things including what park to go to and which day and touring plans. There are also forums there for members which I really like. I am one who likes to plan and plan and reads guide books as well, so if that is your style this may be for you. The nice thing is that the information is updated all the time, so everything is current. I believe there is a discount somewhere too. PM me if you have any questions or need help with the link.

We are huge fans of TGM. Never waited in a line longer than 15 mins! It's worth a look. Great forums over there. You'll see a lot of the same faces!

We've done Disney over 100+ times...never really had a bad time with crowds or lines, but after being on the Dis all this time, I've wondered about TGM myself and am curious...is it a pay per use site (meaning pay per vacation) or do you pay a fee and its good for a period of time (like a year's use for multiple vacations)?

You pay for a subscription which is good until 60 days (I think) after your vacation. This will be my 3rd year using TGM. His website can seem confusing until you get the hang of it. I find his best days advice to be right on the money. His site will not give out personal touring plans for each family. Meaning, you cannot enter your party size, ages, etc and it will spit out a personalized touring plan for you. He will give generalized touring plans and tell you the how and why he tours like that. He will also "teach" you how to adjust his plans to meet your needs. I've learned alot over there and I can take his plans and tweak them to fit my family.

One thing you should be aware of is his info isn't always the most up to date. I think for the most part Hollywood Studios is still referred to as MGM. He just released a touring plan including Toy Story Mania. Stuff like that. Sometime not so major but others, well, it can annoy me. But between here and TGM, I get all the info I need.

I have to totally agree with this, even with summer crowds, we've used him in prior summers with total success.... wait lines as we're leaving the parks are 90 minutes and we waited 5 earlier in the day thank you TGM!!!

Used him on my first trip ever to Disney, and will use him for every trip I take from now on. The site is a bit confusing, but I found I really needed to have a good hour (without interruptions/kids) and then it was a breeze. The cost was minimal, and having used him, Id pay triple for what he offers (dont tell him that )

I TGM!!! This is our 3rd time we've signed up for it. The best days charts alone are worth the subscription. Yes, other sites offer similar info. But TGM goes into detail about why or why not to chose the park and splits it by morning evening. Your satisfaction is guaranteed, so you really have nothing to lose!

I'm glad you asked! We are heading to our first WDW trip ever in October (we live in WA state, not too easy/affordable to travel that far) and I feel like I am undergoing info overload. This service is probably what I need, LOL! I'm heading back to read more now...
