Maybe a goofy question(no pup intended) :rotfl2: , but is it possible to buy Tour Guide Mike TP's used? I am a self proclaimed cheapskate  and am trying to save on every aspect of our impending Oct. trip and wondered if and where it would be possible?? Thank you!!

I don't think so. I think the $20 is very well spent. Perhaps you can find a code on Mouseforless or maybe Mousesavers. I like TGM and I've visited WDW perhaps 17/18 times !!! LOL

I understand cost-cutting...really :). I'm a bargain hunter myself. However, due to the way that TGM works, I really don't think that this is a viable, or ethical IMHO, option. Not to mention, Mike's trying to run a small business and I don't think it's fair to undercut him. Finally, and I do apologize for sounding a bit stodgy here, but it would absolutely break the disclosure rules that everyone agrees to when signing on.

I personally feel that you get so much bang for your buck with TGM. I know you won't be disappointed in his service. It's money well spent.

Again...not trying to flame you here....just being honest :). Best of luck with your trip planning :flower: .

Edited to add: I came back here b/c I hope I'm not sounding too harsh. Your question is valid, in the sense that you can buy used books. However, what sets TGM apart from the tourbooks is his constant, real time information. Since everything is web-based, and structured to work with your specific preferences and time periods, even if you could buy used touring plans, they might not work for your situation, time, kids ages, etc. Anyway, sorry to ramble :). Just want to make sure I'm being informative and not inflammatory :D.

Whoa!!! I'm not trying to cheat anyone out of a profit here! I buy my Passporters used, I guess I thought of it like that. Nor am I trying to do anything unethical. Sorry, if I offended anyone. Question Resinded!

Please read my edited message. Didn't mean to flame. Just trying to give you info and advice :). :sunny:

Sorry my reply came across harsh :guilty:. It was unintended.

I really do hope you give TGM a try...it's great info :teeth: .

I finally signed up for TGM, due to the fact that we will be there the first week of May, which will be the kick-off of their big 50th Happiest Celebration on Earth. With that going on, I guess we'll need all the help and advice that we can get!!!

But, no, TGM is not like a book.... I mean, in a way it is... But it works differently than that. One would have to sign up and use his site for a while to really see what others are talking about. You really have to dig in for a few days and then you begin to understand, and it all 'clicks'... You are not getting a simple, pre-fab, black and white, A-B-C 1-2-3. itenerary or touring plan. (which, I might add, would probably not work for the huge percentage of guests anyhow!!!!) The magic in a site like TGM is in the details... After you spend a little while on TGM, you see that you have really learned soooo much!!!! You will be able to plan your trip to YOUR advantage, based on what you are wanting to do, and differing circumstances of your family, the days of your visit, etc.

As mentioned, it is all proprietary!!!

Also, with codes it is less than $20.00 bucks.
I would say it is worth it for any OCD Disney planner!!! :)

I did not realize it was a "service" I just thought it was another guidebook. I have seen some glowing comments here on the boards and did not know what it was. Sounds like a neat idea! I assure all of you, I intended no fraud!! Thank you to Gaston for the code!! I'll definately try it out now!! Thank you for all your help!!!

We used TGM last year for our trip. It is definitely worth the $$$. We are going again this year and signed up again. Since we are repeat customers, we got a discount. So if you use TGM more than once at least next year you can save some $$$.

I am officially a Tour Guide Mike AP holder!! What great info!!! I can't wait to go now that I am armed and determined to get through the park and see more than 4 attractions in 6 hours.(Our record last year at MK, pretty sad, huh?) Thanks for all the info and help! And Yes!! It is definately worth the money!! Does Mike still do tours at Disney?

TNKBELL,

Good for you! I know you will enjoy using it and it should help you plan a great trip. Just be patient with it at first. It took me a few days to kind of work my way through it and understand it. But once you get the hang of it, it is an excellent tool for planning your trip. We got so many great tips from it last year and had a wonderful trip because of it. :flower:

Hopefully I'll get the hang of it over the next several months :rolleyes1 !!! Wish we could go sooner :goodvibes I have already printed off tons of pages!! :Pinkbounc Thanks for all the encouragement!!! :grouphug:

Mike is in the parks almost daily on his VIP tours. Plus he has others who work for him in the parks constantly. That is why his information is updated constantly. Things change daily. It is almost impossible to believe he has the time and energy to keep the web site updated like he does. You can e-mail him directly if you are interested in his personally guided tours.

I looked it up and it cost $21.95. That's more than $20.

I'm not going to get though. I don't want to end up spending a lot on books, TGM, etc.

You can get a code for $3 off. And it would be the best 18.95 spent. They way I look at it, as much as I spend on a Disney vacation, what is $20 to make the most of it. And I bet when TNKBELL comes back from vacation, he wont believe he ever waited 6 hours for 4 rides!

I just joined TGM after reading lots of pro's and con's from this board. From what I can tell it looks like it will provide some very useful info for our pending trip. I did a Google search for Tour Guide Mike's Promo Code and I found a $3 off code that worked fine.
