Sorry if this has been discussed before but just wanted to give people a heads up!

Tour groups from our favorite South American country are now staying at the Poly. We saw them many times during our stay from June 24-July 4, and they are using the area in front of the Rapa Nui building to get their busses.

Even though they were there in droves, we only noticed them when trying to eat at Capt. Cook's later in the evening. We also noticed late one evening at the pool.

We stayed in Tahiti and never saw them in our building.

Just want to let folks on here know what's going on! We were surprised since it seems most summers they stay at Value resorts and never have seen them at the Poly (we go every summer at the same time of year - every year since 2000!)

So the economy in Brazil must be booming ;)

Haha one of them sat at my table at the pool a few days ago. Yep! It was my daughter, my dad and I just hanging at our table by the pool with an extra chair that I would have been happy to give to her if she wanted it. Instead she pulled up a seat right at our table and didn't even acknowledge us haha it was kind of funny

:lmao: That is hysterical!!! Did you take a picture?? lol!!

What in the H-e-double hockey sticks is wrong with people?!?! LOL She just sat at your table?!?! I have a story that is nearly as bad. We had waited 40 minutes in line, in the heat, to get a pic with Snow White. We were the last ones and trying to hurry because it was Snow White's break time, so the photopass CM lines my daughter up and is about to take the picture when suddenly this woman from a country that shall remain nameless hops IN THE PICTURE! I was livid! It was one of only two times I have ever lost my temper at WDW. I screamed at her like a crazy-mom-banshee. Blame the heat, blame the Grey Goose slushes if you will, but I screamed, and her and her group were escorted away.

since the dreaded tour groups have invaded your poly outsmart them and start staying at the pop have a nice day

Sensing the sarcasm....I was there for the 4th this year and it was a little ridiculous. They were doing repetitive school chants on main street while waiting for the MSEP to start...easily 150 just from one school. Hey, if you're school is taking a trip to Disney, that's awesome! I'm half jealous my school never did that. I just say, be mindful that not everyone else is on your school trip with you.

We were walking in the Centre courtyard area going to Tutto, when a mob of them rushed past us knocking into anyone (including me) in their way so they could get up on the raised area to do their chants. Wasn't fun for me. :sad2:
Very close to ending up on the ground, but was able to regain my balance.

What i find objectionable is the total disregard for everyone else, & the line cutting. Sadly this behaviour is not only tour groups.

We usually avoid WDW in early July if possible, when the tourgroups seem to be the most prevalent. The last time we did WDW in early July in '08 they seemed to be better behaved then we had seen in years past.

Even this year we had no problems with the groups, we found many of them to be very nice and polite!! We were trying to get into the Land pavilion and my aunt uses an ECV, a couple of the guys held back the rest of the masses in their group to let us get in :goodvibes We thanked them, it was very very nice since that pavilion gets NUTS!!

Even at the Poly, we had no problems, just that in the evening at Capt Cook's you really couldn't move cause its such a small space!!

Just sat at your table and ate, that is so funny to me.
:rotfl:
Id be thrilled if my own was so brave to do so in a far away place. Id rather that then not getting a seat. I am sure it was out of necessity (on there part) rather than disrespect. Clearly IMHO it is more of a "social grace" issue than anything else.
Glad it did not bother you so much...."its a small world after all"....and sharing a table is not so bad really..actually I think it can be enjoyable...(if you get to meet someone new, but thats just me) ;)

True, I totally agree! It was 11:00pm and you can imagine how many seats and tables were open. I just thought it was so funny, especially since she didn't acknowledge myself or my Dad. She just continued to text and play on her phone. My Dad and I just looked at each other and laughed.

That's funny in theory, but I think it'd drive me crazy XD We have neighbors who come from a culture where when you feel like dropping in on someone, you do, and you stay as long as you feel like it. Even if it means falling asleep on their couch :-/ I'd imagine it's similar to the concept of sharing someone's table without asking if there's extra seats.

We were at the Poly 6/22-6/29 and there was at least one tour group there then. I don't know what longhouse they were in, but it wasn't Hawaii. The only time I saw them was in the morning, when I was going through the GCH to get to the buses and they were coming in/out of Capt. Cooks. Other then that, the only time we saw them was one night at the pool. They decided to use the pool in the late evening and took it over. Not that they did it on purpose, it was just that the pool isn't that big and their group was lol. They were loud, but not chanting. It was typical teen behaviour and I laughed at my oldest son (almost 18) when he complained because the night before he was doing the exact same things!
