Tour company for Northern Lights

I'd love to see the Northern Lights but ABD is the only escorted tour company I've ever used. Does anyone have recommendations on similar quality tour companies that go view the Northern Lights in Iceland or other parts of Europe?

We've used Ice Limo in Iceland twice now. I'd use them again if I were going back to Iceland.

Why not check out some tours that run in the Canadian North? It's not just Europe/Iceland that you can see the Northern Lights from. A quick google search came up with a few companies that operate tours in the Yukon.

The same is true for Northern Alaska. Only they call it the Aurora Borealis.

Not just northern AK. My fam got fantastic pics from the front door of my childhood house in Anchorage a couple mos ago. (Although I wouldn’t vacation in Anchorage, but that’s another story.)

ETA: We also call them the northern lights in AK.

Google “anchorage crime rate.” It’s not pretty. Property crime has been skyrocketing. It’s also terrible for assault, etc. Large homeless population (really all over town, but worst downtown in/near the touristy areas (not uncommon to see open drug use in town square). Growing up, we knew which neighborhoods not to go into. Now that’s not really true, it’s all over.

From KTVA, a local news station (Jan 2018): “By examining the FBI's 2016 Uniform Crime Report, which was released this week, the report found that Alaska is the most dangerous state in America, and concluded that Anchorage is the state's most dangerous city.”

There also really isn’t much to do there. Better to head North to Denali, and/or South for fishing/sightseeing.

I guess it *has* been a long time since I've been to Anchorage! (10 years) That's really too bad. I spent a couple of days there after my 2009 Alaska ABD, and did enjoy wandering the city, taking a bus tour, etc. It's sad when this happens to a city. Thank you for the heads' up!

I know Natural Habitat does lots of Northern Lights trips in northern Canada. We did their polar bear trip, and our guide told us lots about what the Northern Lights trips are like - they sounded fascinating

The Iceland ABD doesn't run during the time of year when the Northern Lights are typically visible. I was on the last trip the first week of September in 2018, and we were about a week and a half too early to see them. Our Guide Drew *did* stay up past 1am a couple of nights hoping to be able to alert us to a viewing, but there was just nothing to see.
