I was planning on getting a tour book of universal for an upcoming vacation. By any chance does annyone have recommendations?

Yes indeed...Kelly comes here quite often and according to most posters on the board, his book is dynomite!

Excellent recommendation! It's what I would have said! I haven't bought the most recent book, but you can bet it's awesome!

i agree with the posters above. that is the only book worth its money for universal.

Yes, we love you, too. I just got your book a week ago from Amazon. If the kids didn't interrupt every 30 seconds, I wouldn't be able to put it down, either. Love it! Especially the day plans to get the most bang out of your time. I think my Mother's Day indulgence will be to lock myself away and finish it. I just ordered your other book about the other Orlando, too. Can't wait to get it!

This could be my exact comment! Darn those pesky kids keeping me for escaping to Universal planning heaven. I love the idea to hide out on Mom's day and just read it cover to cover! Got mine on Amazon, too! Great book!

ps I got The Other Orlando, too (not as good as Universal Orlando, but still very enjoyable. People really trek to the Holy Land Experience? Who knew?)

pps I also got Beyond Disney the Unofficial Guide, from which I enjoy the one day touring plan page, easy to photocopy and stick in your pocket for touring. Universal Orlando is the best of the three, though.

You should check out Steve Barrett's "Hassle-Free Walt Disney World Vacation." I think it has the best WDW touring plans. (Of course, I'm prejudiced because my company publishes Steve's book.)

But seriously, Steve's a true Disney nut and a scientist to boot (he's a physician) and he's at WDW every week, constantly refining his plans.

And I didn't get to hide out and read the entire Universal book today, but I got a nice chunk of it enjoyed!

For those of us out of state-ers, any tips or tricks for the excessive daily parking rates? Besides buying the annual pass? We are true deal searchers and have great off site rates, and internet purchased passes for the parks (at great prices) now we need to save on the parking.

Not for a while. In fact, I'm here on the DIS playing hooky from writing it!

Check Amazon in late Fall. Official publication date is Feb 2009.

You're right about the touring plans in Steve barrett's book. His plans worked wonders for us last year.

I only bought one book this year for our Universal trip. It was the best one I found at Barnes and Noble and it's yours.
