Tough Time for Flying

It has been a rough couple of weeks for flying it seems, two planes at Pearson clip each other causing a fire! Lots of delays and cancellations due to weather. We were lucky on our mini trip to Orlando over Christmas with just a one hour delay each way. The DD22 was flying back to Saskatoon for school on Jan 1st and had a weather delay, a maintenance delay, a staffing delay, a missed connection, a rebooked flight. Took her 13 hours to get to Saskatoon and yes her luggage did not make it until the next day! How did everyone make out?

haha... we went to Winnipeg for our break. The flights were fine, if full, but the weather....!!!! Well, they don't call it Winterpeg for nothing. Then again, I think Sk and Ab got it even worse than we did.

We were delayed about an hour to MCO and on the way back. We got off lucky as a lot of flights on the way back connecting through YYZ were canceled but we took a direct flight home and were only delayed.

I know the pains of delays. During the Ice Storm year, our plane coming back from MCO was diverted to BUF, where we waited on the tarmac for the maximum allowable time before we were allowed into the terminal. Worse yet, we had what seemed like a relatively green AC Rouge staff that had to handle a situation that even a veteran crew would have issues with. We were supposed to be at YYZ around noon. We ended up there around 8pm. Not exactly the way you want to end your vacation, but c'est la vie.

I hope that everyone that flew out got back safe!

Dec 15: Westjet on time
Dec 31: Westjet 1.5 hours late but was it ever cold coming home

Allegiant Air gets a bad rap but we flew OGS->PIE on Jan 31st with about a 30 minute delay (OGS only has one gate and it was occupied by another Allegiant plane so our plane was sitting on the tarmac waiting to be able to approach the gate). Our return flight PIE->OGS on Jan 11th left on time and I think landed about 20 minutes ahead of schedule.
